This poll may be difficult for some. Which park is better. The Universal Parks or the Disney parks and to make it fun, WHY!?

You're really looking for trouble, aren't you?!! ;) Hope you've got good reflexes...you're going to be doing a lot of ducking!! Or are you going to just toss the grenade in, and disappear or maybe just watch the carnage from the sidelines?

Disney all the way!

You can spend days and days at Disney Parks without getting sick of them. Everyone at Disney is happy. The overall theming is better. The parks are more developed and family oriented. The rides vary, there is something for everyone. There is just that Disney "magic" that brings out the kid in you! Universal parks are fun for a day or two, but I could never spend numerous days walking around there. They are trying so hard to build a resort like WDW but I just can't see them accomplishing it. Think about it, could you go to Universal Studios and IOA for a week or more and actually find enough to do?

Plus, Disney is just classic. The movies, the characters, the overall atmosphere.

Hmmm, it's hard to try to explain why...just because, thats why!!

I agree with BMC. Disney is way better. I thought that Universal Studios was boring. They had some fun things but it was nothing like Disney.:sohappy:

While i agree that Disney is far superior, i think to say Universal is Boring is going a little to far, they have some wonderful rides, Men in Black, Spiderman, ET to name but a few would all be a great assett to Disney.

I know this is a disney site, but come on give Universal a little bit of credit:animwink:

universal is much newer than disney. They opened in 1990, when disney world opened in 1970 something. Give Universal 30 years, and then compare them to disney.

Right now, Disney has to be better, but Universal has some good things that disney doesn't have, and the other way around.

It depends on what you're looking for, really

If you lean towards the thrills, the Universal parks are better.

If you want the all around experience and aren't concerned with the thrills, then the Disney parks are better.

Woofboy was absolutely correct when he said that Disney offers some things Universal doesn't have, and vice versa.

Both parks do an above-average job with theming and ride-quality. As to which branch of parks is better, well, that's arguable.

Disney get's my vote, It has some unique clasics, Frendly rides for all ages and people, Some Extreme Thrills and kiddy thrills. Universal has kiddy plases, couple non thrill seaker rides And tons of thrill rides.

I Go With Disney, One of the best theme places in the world.

I think for thrill rides, universal is your place. However, nothing can beat the atmosphere of a disney park. So well thought-out and just really peaceful to be in.

I'll just sum it up as this: Universal and Disney are absolutely fantastic at theming.

Universal caters to the more thrill friendly families. Even the kids rides have to spin or dive or something.

Disney caters to everybody. Small kids who hate rides that duck, dive, or spin, ones who do, everybody. If you like ghosts, but hate thrills, the HM is for you. You like friendly cruises or "passive" attractions? the Jungle Cruise. Musical review? The Enchanted Tiki Room. Cheesy carnival rides? Dino-rama. blah blah blah.

Of course, Universal has several rides that mirror this (dumbo=one fish two fish, Barnstormer=Unicorn) But try to find an enchanted tiki room or 20,000 Leagues, and you'll be hard pressed.

(ok, so 20k is gone at WDW. But it lives in Tokyo, and its still the only "underwater" ride ;)

I love Disney but i also find that going to Universal is a welcome break from the hustle and bustle of the Disney Parks. Plus they have some great rides!

*only 9 days to go*

I would definitely have to agree...When you're in Disney you get caught up in "everything Disney" EVERYWHERE YOU LOOK... Hitting a day or two at Universal makes you realize that there is MORE TO LIFE than just Disney (although, I'd be happy if there was nothing more to life :) )

Neither company is "better" than the other, but my family and I prefer to spend our time and money at Universal's parks, and entertainment complex. Why?? 1. We live very close to it. 2. As annual pass holders, we feel we are better appreciated than we ever were over at Disney (via discounts, and other perks offered to us). 3. The rides and shows Universal offers, appeal more to us. 4. US, IoA, and CityWalk, are all very close to 1 another. 5. Mardi Gras celebration. 6. Horror Nights (can't wait to see it over at IoA this year). 7. Parking garages, unless you get stuck parking on either of the top levels of the 2 garages.
