YEA! I'm coming down in 2 days. The weather forecasts aren't looking too great though. Trying to figure out how many layers to bring. Is it getting pretty chilly at night?

Sorry...its my fault. I moved here from Michigan about 6 weeks ago and apparently I forgot to shut the door as I left as the winter temps appear to have followed me...yes, its been getting chilly at night, bring some layers. Keep checking the weather and the 10 day forcast. Hopefully the temps start to rise again. They were doing good, but the last few days they dipped down again. I'm with you though, where the heck is the FL weather??? I don't even feel like I can brag to my friends and family back home...wait, thats a lie...I'll take the cool evenings over the 10 inches of snow they are anticipating tomorrow ANYDAY...:p and I DO brag about it :D!

While the daytime highs for the next few days in Orlando are a little below the February average of 73F, the overnight lows are pretty much right about the February average of 48F.

Winter night lows feel much colder then you might expect though as the sun is very strong here so even in winter, when it sets, you notice a big difference. If there is wind, it will also add to the chill factor.

The Florida state budget came up about 1 billion dollars short this year and to try and make ends meet the Florida chamber of commerce cut back on Florida weather a couple of months ago. Rumor has it that they picked up some weather from Antarctica on the cheep.

right now the florida weather is taking a vacation in the caribean... seems since there was a vacancy tornado alley's moved in... though it's not paying any rent or taxes :fork:

:hammer::ROFLOL:

in all seriousness, the weather is like any normal Feb weather for florida... cold to pleasant, with a slightly bigger chance of major storms when cold-fronts come through due to El nino.

I'm always amazed at how many people do not look at the weather forecasts and show up in shorts, tank tops and flip-flops, 'cause hey, it's Florida-it's ALWAYS hot! I only feel sorry for the little kids who end up looking like little Smurfs, they're so blue from the cold.

LOL! A slight oversight. Are you sick of winter yet?

:lol: I'm a native Floridian... I dislike winter... but really hate summer much more :D Winter I can bundle up... or just turn off the AC :lol: summer you need the AC and fans running to keep cool.

Though being on the 3rd floor of a apartment style dorm doesn't help much. :hammer:

I hate this ridiculous cold we're having. I love the Florida heat, well as long as it stays under 99 degrees. I'll be so glad when it gets warm outside again. Although I will say that my perfect temps would be highs in the mid to low 80's with lows in the low 60's.

My annual trip is usually in February and it is usually cool after the sun goes down. Still better than dealing with snow!

Here's the thing I've learned about Florida weather since moving here...

I'm a native New Englander, while I don't know the extreme cold of Alaska or Canada, I know cold. Cold is relative, but after being in Florida for a little while, you get used to the warmth real fast.

48 in February is nothing. As was said, it's short and t-shirt weather for many people, but down here out come the gloves and heavy coats. Still, it's pleasant. And while we're gonna get rain today and probably Friday into Saturday, it's still gonna be nice. I'd only suggest that people check a weather forecast before they leave for Disney and check it out for the time they're here and be aware that at night, particularly if you're at Epcot for Illuminations, Hollywood Studios for Fantasmic, or Magic for Wishes plan for it to feel cooler than it looks. Also, if you're walking around the parks in the mornings because it can feel cold then too.

However, sales have been really good recently on sweatshirts which is good news for Disney (considering they make $50 or more on each one), so do as you will.

Is this what causes your heart to fear?

I would take the chilly Florida weather, providing there's no snow there. I'm crawling through 2 feet of snow here in PA. Biggest snow storm in 17 years - it's so miserable.
