Where would you rather go Cars Land or New Fantasyland?

I do not like the Cars movies but this isn't about the movies ... I've been to both lands and this is not even a contest ... I'd rather they took the 400-450 million for Fantasyland and just did Radiator Springs Racers in the Studios.

Carsland, no contest ...

This is like a three week old baby against Michael Jordan (circa mid-90s) in a one on one basketball game.

Before I hear the rebuttals, Fantasyland is beautiful but there is no substance there, I don't hate it, but it's a lateral move at best, doesn't progress or take away from the park.

This is very telling and WDW should pay attention. Cost cutting isn't going to work....build something with backbone, something that will entertain and last for generations. Example..splash mountain, haunted mansion, pirates, RSR. All rides were built with care and the end product shows.

So far, the reviews have been mostly mediocre for the new fantasyland. Very pleasing to view with not much of substance. To be fair, maybe the mine train changes all that and becomes the center piece of fantasyland. But with reports that the mine train is only a c ticket at best cast doubt that will happen.

It will truly be unbelievable if California adventure jumps up to the number third most visited park. WDW needs to step up their game...we have all seen what is at the parks....time for something new and exciting!

New Fantasyland- only because I just went to DCA to see Cars Land. It is AMAZING- but my guess is even New Fantasyland cant compete. I won't go to WDW until something big opens beyond Fantasyland. But I cannot wait to go back to DCA. Who'd a thunk it???

New Fantasyland. Visited Disneyland and Cars Land earlier this year. Cars Land reminded me of old Test Track with a much MUCH longer line. We waited in the hot sun for almost an hour with fastpasses for Radiator Springs. Please note: that was after 30 minutes in line for the fastpass alone first thing in the morning.

I'm in the minority here, but the only thing I have interest for at Carsland is RSR. I'm not really interested in the Cars franchise. I'd have to go with Fantasyland. I've never seen either, but I think the FLE is going to be underrated.

My family gets out to Disneyland every few years. I don't know for sure yet, but we might actually be going there in January if my husband ends up going to a conference he wants to attend nearby in Los Angeles. If he goes to that, then I'm going to fly out too and my son and/or daughter might join me for a few days and we'll have a "surprise" trip to Disneyland that we weren't expecting.

If so, then we'll probably checkout Carsland. The Radiator Springs Racers is the thing we'd like to ride. I am nervous though, just thinking about it, because I have heard you need to be very aggressive to ride it...get in line the second the place opens and get a Fast Pass and all that. My family has never been Fast Pass people. We like to just enjoy ourselves and happen upon a ride, see if we want to ride it, and then get into line if it's a 30 minute wait or less. But it seems that RSR is always hours and hours for a line so people are doing that Fast Pass thing.

I am sure if we do go to Carsland that it would be a once in a lifetime thing for me to ride RSR. I am curious enough about it to fight for a Fast Pass for it and all that...but I can't see myself doing that ever again. I am really interested in checking out the Buena Vista Street and then the little snack shops they have for Carsland with the popcorn and little tasty treats. That looks like fun.

The rest of DCA really has no appeal to me. So I think after we ride RSR we'll look around Carsland a little and then go back over to Disneyland itself and do the things we enjoy there. That would be more fun in my opinion.
I, however, can't wait to see New Fantasyland in WDW. That's a place that's going to be special to me for many years to come. Carsland is something I will probably experience once in my lifetime and not think too much about afterwards because I am not emotionally connected to the Cars brand. But I do love the Disney stories behind New Fantasyland and they are a special part of my family's memories.

Perhaps a younger generation loves the Carsland brand more though. Every family is different. That's what's really so magical about Disney. There is something for everyone!

We visited the New Fantasyland last week. My family's opinion was that it was OK. I think young girls will adore it but there was nothing worth a second visit. MK alone has at least half-a-dozen attractions that are better. Meanwhile, Carsland has received rave reviews and completely revitalized DCA's attendance. Carsland should win over New Fantasyland in a landslide.

P.S. Based on what I saw, the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is going to be the best thing added to the New Fantasyland. If you have to choose, go with Carsland now and wait for the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train to open before visiting the New Fantasyland.
