Hello Everyone!
We will be going to WDW mid-October and I'll be celebrating my 38th Birthday our first day at The World (I've only been to WDW once before and that was on my 16th Bday where we spent the day at MK). Because this will be day 1 of our 6day trip we will spend it at MK. My question... if you could pick a great place to have an adult birthday dinner that is table service - where would you go?
NOTE: (we have ADR's that week for: Flying Fish, Boma and Chef Mickeys)

He celebrated many bdays at WDW. DH picked Le Cellier for his, Sister in law picked Hollywood & Vine (we needed to be at DHS for Fantasmic any how). We've always celebrated kids bdays with a character meal. We've celebrated our anniversary at CRT a couple of times which is a great meal if you're going to be at MK any how

What fun! If you are looking for something upscale, I would definetly see if you can snag a reservation at California Grille at the Contemporary. The view will take your breath away. If you want something a little more lax, but fun, I would see about Ohanas at the Polynesian. Both of these are on the lagoon, so if you are spending that day in MK, it is just a quick monorail ride away. Have a fantastic birthday and vacation!

Le Cellier, Les Chefs de France, Rose and Crown, or California Grill are all good choices! :slurp:

California Grille is OUTSTANDING and a great location. Check to see if the Wishes Fireworks show is that night and the experience is even better. But for my money California Grille is the best restaurant on property. Jiko is a close second and we've gone for the last 7 years in a row...

A great table service restaurant for adults only in the Magic Kingdom?

Sorry, there isn't one.

Congrats on the upcoming trip! :sohappy:
If I may make a suggestion - you may want to spend your day at MK, but take the monorail for dinner over to EPCOT. As the poster I quoted said, it is currently limited at MK.

Le Cellier seems booked in October (we could not get in) and I know several also recommended that.

For other adult meal options in EPCOT - Les Chefs de France is our favorite. We also like Rose and Crown. In Germany, Biergarten is a very fun environment with a dinner show (at least there was the last time I was there)

OR you could ride the boat from MK over to Wilderness Lodge for "Artist Point" or monorail to Grand Floridian for "Citricos" which are both very nice table service restaurants. I have heard nice things about the food at the Polynesian (also nearby on the monorail from MK) but defer to other members who have eaten there for an opinion as I last ate there as a child.

Good luck and have a wonderful time! If you want to experience Mickey's Halloween Party - make sure to buy those tickets in advance. I didn't know that it was separate from the daily park ticket. :D

If I were having an adult dinner and could have someone watch the kids- Victoria & Albert's is #1 on my adult only dinner list. Of course it would need to be in the budget and there would have to be an opening. While my plans fell through for Citrico's last trip and I won't get to have my belated bday dinner at Cali Grill until August...those would be next choices.

California Grill.

Try to get your reservation to coincide with that evening's showing of Wishes. You can watch the show from the observation deck at the top of the Contemporary.

I totally forgot about this restaurant - so close to MK with the monorail hop to the Contemporary and very nice menu selection. We enjoyed a great sunset even though we missed the Wishes show. Good luck!!

Thank you everyone for your suggestions!!! Last night I think we made a decision - thanks to all of you!!! We have actually decided to make a reservation at Artist Point. This will allow us to see the Wilderness Lodge, possibly check out the boat parade and we HOPE we'll be able to see Wishes from the dock. Our reservation is for 6:15pm - so, we MAY even have time to get back in time for Wishes. Thank you again.... I sure wish I could fold my arms, nod my head and blink to make Oct. come quicker!!! :)
