My boyfriend and I are going to Disney this August. I have been to Disney so many times, but he hasn't been there since he was young. I know a lot about Disney, but I am lost when it comes to Disney Dining. I always used to eat at the cheaper quick serve restaurants and was wondering what restaurants would be best for table service for a couple to eat at, good food, fun atmosphere or romantic would work too. Any suggestions? Also, I was wondering if it is absolutely necessary to make reservations because really I just go I don't make itinerarys, so i don't know exactly where we will be and when. Any suggestions on that matter?? So excited, give me your feedback, it would be very much appreciated. :)

You must have ADR's, especially in the summer. August can be a busy month. We like Boma for dinner, The Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast (our favorite), Restaurant Marrakesh for lunch...I could go on and on.
Take a look at the menus (link all the way at the top of the page) and see what you like, then make those ADR's. Have fun!

I have to agree... You will definitely need ADR's in August! As far as places to eat, I like Boma, Kona Cafe, LeCellier, Coral Reef and Whispering Canyon for dinner... Chef Mickey's, Crystal Palace and1900 Park Fare for breakfast. Have a good trip.

Any character meal is always a good time. You should absolutely make a reservation for any place you may want to try. You can make a few now and cancel once you decide what park/place you'll be.

Boma is great! Chef Mickey's, Liberty Tree Tavern, Crystal Palace are a few good character meals. At DHS Hollywood Brown Derby is very good. At Epcot Le Cellier I have heard is wonderful, we will eat there for the first time this trip.
Whatever you decide make ADRs as soon as possible. We made ours at the 180 mark but needed to change a couple a few weeks ago and it was very limited.
Have fun!

Also, it depends on how much you want to spend. I could list some really fun and/or romantice TS restaurants, but they could be more than what you would want to pay. (ie. Narcoossee's).

There are some really nice TS restaurants you could try. My favorites are Artist Point, Narcoossees, Fulton's, and Yachtsman. Boma is a nice buffet. Ohana is another nice "all-you-can-eat" style meal. The GF cafe is a nice TS that is not as expensive as the others.

If you want tons of food w/ casual fun atmosphere I would try Whispering Canyon Cafe. If you are into characters try Chef Mickey's or LTT.
If you want romance and great food try Le Cellier. If you like Italian we really liked Mama Melrose's. If you cannot get ADRs before you leave, go to the restaurant the day before you want to go and tell them your sob story! That worked for us! :zipit: Either way have soooo much fun!

Heading for the great escape.
Have to say the more I think about it, the less likely I would be to recommend a park based resturant.

At MK, id leave and visit Kona Cafe, or possibly try the Wave.
At AK, Id make it a counter service lunch and Bomas or Jikos for dinner.
At DHS, id head to the Boardwalk and Spoodles
At Epcot at last a park with some decent eateries, Le Cellieur, Japan, Biergarten, San Angel
