Has any one been over Walt’s plane to see if it is still there. I would have to believe that if it is going to California. It would either be in prep mode or it would be gone by now.

It might still be there if the plan is to fly it out. They've apparently been working on it for months so would've had plenty of time to get it flight worthy.

Older planes in worse condition have been granted special licenses to be relocated so even if not in a complete state it's possible, although the more likely option will be to take the wings off and load it up to be moved somewhere by road.

Then all they would have to do is find a pilot that was suicidal enough to fly a half century plus old plane that hasn't been off the ground for at least 30 years across the country, no matter how much work they did to it. That plane is a land lubber now. And as it was seen somewhat recently still sitting in the same spot where they left it years ago, how much work could the have possible done to it. Besides that isn't the only plane that Walt had in his fleet the rumor might be about a completely different one.

I don't think they are making this flyable again..

They easily could. However, would the company do a teardown-rebuild for something they have no need to fly again? No. There's nothing to gain from it aside from some good PR for a day.

Clean up the inside, make it look nice, stick it in a museum. Done.
Yes, definitely a clean-up and preservation. A historic museum piece well worth preserving as a static display.

I feel the same. I expect blacked out windows with a small display of pictures showing Walt in the plane. And that's fine honestly.

Considering the outside was repainted in the past two-ish years, there's not a whole lot they need to do. Polish it up and make it pretty probably.
I'm not sure it was repainted. I think that they just took the wrap they used while on display at DHS. The color that was under the wrap is the original color of the plane.
