Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I think the part that ticks me off the most is that so many things are under construction there, and I think it's only fair that they drop the 1-day ticket price for DHS, for time being. I mean, if you didn't have a Hopper, there's not really much there for a full day--at least that's my opinion.
Or have a hopper option included on that ticket.

Just spent $20 at the Dollar Tree on things for my classroom, mainly bins and storage containers. They have an amazing selection of those kinds of things. And they look good in a classroom!
What do you teach? $20 at the dollar tree....I bet you can get a lot of great things for a classroom.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Let's start at the beginning, shall we?

Last Sunday night (10/01) shortly after getting off work, I was packing my rental car, getting ready to embark on a long, overnight drive. While loading my last bag, I hear a metallic "clang" noise. I look over, and shortly down the hill, across from my apartment at the neighboring motel's garbage dumpster, I see a black bear standing on it's hind legs peeking down into the dumpster.

Luckily for me, I have my fully charged camera right there in my car, so I think, why not get a short video of a bear dumpster diving? Sounds simple enough, right? Wrong! Less than a second or two after starting to record...a car comes driving up a street behind my apartment building, and either the engine noise or the approaching headlights spook the bear, causing it to suddenly run away from the dumpster....up toward my general direction! It doesn't run directly at me, but up the hill to my area, and adjacent to where I'm standing. It all happened so fast, as you will see in the 15-second video below.

You know it's going to be an interesting trip when you have your first wildlife encounter before even leaving your own driveway.

You’re nuts. And I mean that in the kindest way possible.

I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts on DLP. Did you end up making any restaurant reservations?
I tried to call today, but apparently the reservation line isn't open on weekends? It said to try back another time, so I'll call Monday. We decided to do the Buffalo Bill show, so thank you for that suggestion. And we're going to do a Hunter's Grill night and then I'm not sure about the 3rd one...maybe Plaza Garden. Just not sure. We're figuring DS won't eat at the BBWW show, so we'll have to go to McDonalds in Disney Village for him, but the other 2 nights we want to do buffets so he'll be sure to find something he will eat, even if it's just rolls and desserts.

Eeek! Please tell me you reported the bear to someone...a bear wandering in a residential area is pretty freaky!!

My cousin and her husband took Mike and I out for dinner last night. They are moving this week, and will be a solid 3+ hours away - the furthest since she was a teenager out on the mission field in the 80’s.
Huntsville is a lot closer than Tanzania, but still ... :(

Mike has been to Speekezzie’s before, but I had not. He knows the chef from back in high school. I don’t remember him.

Frank got the mussels. He’s a Coaster, so he has an excuse. He gave quite a few to Mike. They both enjoyed them.
My love of seafood is limited to shrimp, lobster, and really high quality fresh crab legs. Dean doesn’t touch any of it, which is funny as she is actually one half Newf.

Mike got the chef’s special - some kind of beet salad.
I enjoyed the little bit he had left when we did the inevitable salad swap.

Dean and I got the Caesar salad. (Hers had croutons.) These were inedible. The dressing had such an unexpected spicy kick that our delicate palates were overwhelmed. Dean sent hers back. I gave mine to Mike.

Frank got the seafood pasta, swapping the red sauce for a white butter cream sauce. You can’t really tell, as I wouldn’t let him mix it until I had taken a photo. I had a taste of the leftover pasta once all the icky sea dwelling things were gone. It was really, really good.

Dean got the fettuccine Alfredo. “It was edible.” Sadly, she wasn’t wowed, but she did eat all of it.

Mike and I got the same pasta special. Butter, onions, pancetta, asparagus, two ginormous shrimp. It was actually more photogenic before the fresh grated cheese, but I didn’t take a picture then.
This was so good. Mike and I really enjoyed it.

Sadly, I somehow forgot to take pics of dessert. We split a crème brûlée, and a tiramisu; both made in house. Best tiramisu I have ever had. Truly.

The gentlemen had Heineken; Deanna had two different glasses of dry white; I had water.

We then came back here where more white wine and beer was consumed. I had tea. It was a lovely evening though, and I’m sorry she’s moving.

Well, this doesn’t feel right.
Holly has always been a very delicate eater with a petite appetite. We’ve always just left her kibble bowl full and let her graze.

About a year and a half ago, we switched her to puppy food for the extra calories, and added a serving of canned puppy food for supper.

She gave up the kibble completely in the late spring, and I switched her to soft chunks of “raw food”. She stopped eating that a couple of days ago, even though she loved it. And now for the last couple of days she won’t eat her canned food unless I finger feed it to her. Today, not even then.

I’ve explained to her that while her “time” is certainly coming, this is not it. I already had to put a dog down on Thanksgiving weekend (six years ago). I don’t want to do it again. She just ignores me and keeps sleeping. *sigh*

:(

My dog's birthday is coming up on the 10th. She would have been 13. A little bit ago I was thinking about her last day, the last moment I saw her, and the last time she gave me a kiss. I'd give anything to have her back.
