Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Did you have grade 13?
Yes. I ended up finishing five years in four though.
If I'd known then how good I had it, I wouldn't have been in such a rush to finish.

I was very driven. Looking back, I wish I'd dated. I wish I'd joined some clubs. I wish I'd spent less time with my face in a book, and more time with my friends.

yes so was being a 26 y/o
Somebody already said this better, but whatever age you are seems the hardest at the time.

In reality, had my parents not both passed away at such a young age, I would really be in a difficult time now. I was only a member of the sandwich generation for a couple of years. Some of my friends have been there 10+ years.

I'm 30+ years removed from the easy street that was high school. How far out are you?
I'm attending my High School 50th Reunion this summer. If anyone remembers their High School Math they should be able to figure out how long I have been away from easy street.
I'm only going to see how I have held up compared to my classmates. I have already outlived a number of them, but, I'd like to believe that I will leave feeling good about myself.
The chances are I will leave very depressed.
Would it be appropriate for me to ask how many plan on attending the 75th while I'm there?

I think you should be proud of your accomplishment. :) There's two ways of looking at this. First, completing 5 years of school assignments in 4, is excellent. Plus, you had the whole rest of your life to be more social, and join whatever clubs, sports, or activities you wanted.

A second view of the same situation would have been to take the five years to complete the work, while being more social and involved in clubs. Which route was better? IMO, you took the best route for you at that time, and that's all that matters.

Coulda, shoulda, woulda . . . I think we all get tangled up in the details, long afterwards. Yet, even if a different path would seem to make more sense now, I'd still say leave well enough alone. Life is a journey and we learn valuable lessons from both good and bad experiences. Nah, wouldn't change a thing.

Well said.

Two words: Zebra Domes. :hungry: :hungry:

Since I went to AK on Monday morning (EMH), I decided I'd go over to AK Lodge for lunch, since it's so close by. Went to the Mara (QS restaurant). Their food has really improved over the years (I once stayed at AKL, prior to the construction of the DVC buildings).

They had carved turkey (not that packaged stuff either), sandwiches with an interesting cranberry spread, and slices of mild cheddar. (I would have never thought to put mild cheddar with turkey, but it was delicious.) The other thing I really liked was that they gave you a choice of a side--not just French Fries, either. So I chose the couscous salad, and it was so nice for a change. Then, dessert --

They sold 4 Zebra Domes in a container; luckily, they're very small, because I ate all 4!!! :p

Final impression: I give the Mara for QS lunch a 100% satisfaction rating. There was also plenty of seating. I also had a nice conversation with a CM who was sweeping the floors. What a nice man he was -- semi-retired he told me, and enjoyed being around people.

I went to two different high schools - two years at each. The first one is having an 80's reunion in June.

I am not going! Hubby's not interested in going either, so neither of us is pressuring the other.

He has a handful of friends that he still hangs out with, and the rest he sees regularly through his basketball activities.

I am in touch with zero high school friends (from either school) except for a couple that were actually grade school friends, not so much high school friends.

The reunion will be a big night of drinking, dining, dancing, catching up, comparing whose life/spouse/kids turned out better ....
Let's be honest, I'm only interested in one of those activities, and it's catered, so ....

Thankfully, the event is on a Saturday night, and as usual, I can use "work" as my excuse.

I already posted photos from these days so I'll just combine days 3 and 4.

Day 3 started at DHS. It was Star Wars Day. It rained.

Then we toured the Epcot resort area. It was still raining. Swolphin provided guests with umbrellas. Boardwalk had a basket of towels when you walked inside. Guess which hotel costs more.

Then we knocked a few more countries off our Epcot drinking tour.

Just did Morocco, France, and Canada. We were going to watch the French film, but the line was getting mixed up with one for a M&G and was a mess so we only watched the Canada show. When we walked out of O Canada it was a downpour so we ran back to the International Gateway, running from overhang to overhang, got a boat to Boardwalk, and summoned an Uber while drying off in the lobby.

The next day was AK. It seemed like the most crowded park we dealt with during the trip.

Later we went to Sanaa for dinner. It was a great meal. I loved the bread service. I shouldn't wait 45 minutes for a table when I have a reservation though.

The Povu dessert was amazing.

:) This sounds like the "thanksgiving sandwich" (or a variation of it) that was avail at Pop food court and a few other places as recently as Dec 2014. We loved them. They were gone last Dec when we visited. I wonder if this is a variation that's just offered there or if they're bringing it back in other resort or park eateries. Been looking for this...even posted a question on the boards last year to see if anyone else saw them.
