Ay appears in about 6% of words. Ey is only in about 10 common English words, including grey.

You clearly did not appreciate the effort I put into my reply. I’m wounded. Wounded, I tell ya.
I should clarify... ey spells the long a sound in about 10 common English words. Normally it spells the long e sound, as in "key".
I appreciated it. But you can't post something about phonics and not expect me to bore you with facts and information. Phonics is my wheelhouse.

In other news, Thanksgiving is four weeks today. Straight into the decorations and music immediately thereafter.
As soon as November 1st rolls around, it's officially Christmas season. October 1st starts the unofficial Christmas season. The preseason, if you will.

Christmas starts on the day after Thanksgiving in the US. Not a minute before.
It will therefore not surprise you to hear of my disgust that Halloween candy was in the aisles in August.

What about Canada? As I said, our Thanksgiving is in 5 weeks* - the second Monday of October. It’s not even a big deal here like it is for you guys.
*Yes, I know I earlier said 4 weeks. I counted on my fingers wrong.
