I go into it every year and can't make it through all of the posts of that day:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:
I know you do, you're one of the regulars who remember every year.

Honestly, I read it again today from the beginning ( I always do), but this year it made me cry something awful 😭 Maybe because my dad is now disabled, and he often asks me what my brother would be like/what would he be doing now, had he lived.

Its a terrible thing.

My bff who was walking into the office was on the phone with me when the first plane hit. We thought it was a tragic accident until the second plane hit which I saw on the news in real time. Then everything was a blur but I remember people being asked not to use their phones except for emergencies and communicating with people using dial up email which is how I found out my aunt was home and my bother in law was heading into the city to be part of the cleanup. He has health issues do to that.

My current thought on the subject is maybe putting some in about a quarter of the jars because basil does go very with tomatoes but doesn't always go well in some dishes with tomatoes
Very true, very true!

I don't think any of us that were around that day are forgetting it. It was almost surreal, except it was real. I had a daughter that was visiting with her in-laws in Connecticut and had planned on actually going to the towers that day.

Phone lines were tied up most of the day and she finally got through to me that evening to tell me that my grandson wasn't feeling good so they didn't go. In the meantime, we were planning a family get-together at Wells Beach, Maine the next day. It was eerily quiet and the lack of any aircraft flying over was louder then when they actually were. We struggled with trying to make the decision about going or not, but decided that there was nothing that we could change by sitting at home so we might as well go to the ocean, a place that all of us had found to be a calming force.

It did help and we had our little almost two year old grandson to thank for timing his one day illness just right so that the family could still be together. That little two year old is about to turn 25. He doesn't directly remember what was happening, but he says that he remembers that things seemed weird. Weird doesn't seem to describe it adequately.
