But in all seriousness, I went up to school for the first time since Open House last Thursday. I had to sort through all the supplies they brought and prep for the week. During inservice, there's hardly any time to prep since we're busy with meetings and getting ready for Open House. And I'm not about to spend an hour sorting through supplies after Open House when I've been at work for about 11 hours.

Tomorrow is the first day of school (for kids). I hate the first month of school. I just wish kids knew where everything was and how to do all of our routines. It's so exhausting explaining how to do literally everything you do during a school day. And when I say literally, I literally mean literally. Everything in my class is brand new to them.

Day 1 is in the books. I'm exhausted and definitely ordering pizza tonight instead of cooking. Also, if anyone wants to buy me drinks throughout the year, I won't turn you down. I might need them with a few of my kids. 🙃

Today was pretty busy for me, after the longer lazy weekend it was tough to keep up with the kids. I made a casserole yesterday so all I had to do was heat up dinner tonight. I have a few of those kids too, so I'm accepting drinks too.:)

The first hour or two went really well, actually. I was surprised. But then one kid decided that was enough for him and didn't want to do anything. And another kid decided he didn't have to follow the expectations we just talked about and had a couple hours of whining and crying about everything, and it was everybody else's fault. And one is new to our school and is undergoing an IEP eval already... much needed.

All I can say is, your profession is way more than a "job" -- teachers are amazing people. 👍
