Yes please!!! I support this completely! The last couple of days have been SOOOOO cold. For here anyway. This morning was -8C. But Tuesday morning while I was biking to work, the real feel was -15C (5F), which is NOT fun to ride your bike in. And it doesn't usually get that cold here. We're supposed to get up to 20 cm of snow here some time this week or next, I guess, though I don't know how they can tell this far in advance. We haven't gotten so much snow since I've lived here except once, I think. So if it happens, it will be quite the event. I had a really hard time walking to the grocery store today, too. Slick as snot out there.

You know, I don't mind the snow part, because we rarely get snow here and I actually miss it. But why does the cold have to come with it?? And why is everything coming down on me all at once?? I have enough to deal with without risking my life trying to bike to work on slick roads. DH didn't even go see his dad tonight because it wasn't safe to drive to the hospital. Hopefully it's doable tomorrow when my FIL has to move into the nursing home!!

Is your school also off for the holiday on Monday? If so, that would probably push the administrators to get in at least some of a school day for tomorrow, since that's Friday.

No we are not off for MLK day, we never have that off. The snow is coming, that is for sure but I just watched one weather forecast and they said snow starting around 3 am and the next said nothing will be starting until 6am or maybe later in the morning too. Great forecasting! :rolleyes: :hilarious:

So your school has already called off for tomorrow? Well, look on the bright side you don't have as many lessons to prep for next week because all you prepped for this week can be pushed to next week!

A fell off his bike before he even got out of the alley behind our house. It's so slick. There were a bunch of accidents on one of the highways and responders had a hard time even getting to people who needed help because it's so slippery. One person died just a few miles from here when two cars crashed when one slid on the ice. So I called A in from school. E said she couldn't afford to miss, so she left early to allow herself more time to get there in case she needs to get off the bike and walk.
