I have (kind of) heard back from insurance today. My mom called the collision center for me, since I had no free time to do it today. Plus, she knows the owner... she had his son in class. They gave us a approximate "floor" of what the final estimate will be.

With that knowledge, I went and test drove the Terrain in Madison after work. I liked it, and I'm set to get it Saturday.

Mikey has a tick bite. Ski* says it’s a deer tick; which is not the good kind. Our appointment to have the bite looked at it got cancelled, so he’s got another appointment for tomorrow at 6:30.

The mouth parts look intact, and we cleaned the area with alcohol. The little bug-ger was alive, but I’m sure hours in an airtight pill bottle have remedied that.

He’s a doctor … on Quora, so he should know!

Back during the summer, I had a tick bite. Didn't even notice it for a few days, so never pulled it out or whatever. Went to urgent care and was tested for Lyme. Results were negative. (The Northeast is a high lyme tick area, so that's why the doctor immediately tested for Lyme.)

I'm borrowing my dad's car tonight and tomorrow. So I came home to park in my garage, that I'm paying for, and there's someone else parked in my spot. With all of the headaches I've gone through over the past week and a half, I'm not very pleased.

I texted the property manager. He just responded back as I was typing this and said, "Oh sorry, I'll fix that tomorrow". They aren't the most organized people, so I'm betting that's their mistake.

So where did you park? Or did you find the owner of the car and they gave you your spot back. Sounds like a towable situation if you are paying for that spot.

Mike saw a doctor about the tick bite.
The wound is clean, and it’s too early to tell if there’s an issue. All appears fine right now.

If it continues to hurt, gets larger, develops the telltale bullseye pattern; or if any symptoms such as fatigue, rash, dizziness, or confusion present, then he will need antibiotics.

Fingers crossed for a good outcome

Hope he'll be o.k. Not everyone gets the "usual" symptoms (visual or other). I don't know what disease(s) ticks may carry up in your area of Canada, but he can also request the specific (to your area) blood test, as a backup.

@Goofyernmost -- what do you think of the new Beatles song, that was just released yesterday? I know you liked a lot of their music from the past. Was wondering what your thoughts were on this collaboration of an old unreleased tape (John Lennon, and guitar playing from George), with voice updates now from both Paul and Ringo. I like it.

You know what? I don't admit this often but it actually brought tears to my eyes. The words and the music and the knowledge that the man that was singing had been dead for 43 years and George for 22 years. I spent the rest of the day humming the tune and thinking back to early times. I remember going to my high school sweethearts sweet 16 party in 1964 and dancing to the Beatles and the hours I have spent since then listening to that unique sound. And there it was, back again, Now and Then more then describes my reaction. Both Paul and John were geniuses in music and even though John recorded his part, possibly the year he was killed it was like magic. Paul is 82 now and his musical genius and imagination still amazes me. I'm afraid that he will not be around much longer based on his age and having heard parts of a couple of his recent gigs, that magnificent voice is gone now either overworked or aged badly. I fear that without his ability to "put on the show", he might just fade away. Projects like this will keep him going on for a while, but even if they had some more new undiscovered music George can no longer be a part of it so this is indeed the newest and absolute last New Beatles song we will ever hear.
