Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

They may have passed on in the (physical sense), but they'll always be present in your hearts. (There was something about this stock photo I just saw, that relayed this sentiment . . . )

Funny (not really) how that works isn't it. As I have stated before my wife and I divorced 23 years ago today. She passed away from a stroke 7 years ago on Sept. 15th. In spite of having very little contact with her over those years I still find myself flashing back to the good times and feeling sadness that we couldn't have spent some continued happy time together. It never really goes away but thankfully hides most of the time in that storage unit called the heart.:(

Does anyone have any big weekend plans for Labor Day? I don't have much going on. A friend is coming over at some point tomorrow, and we might watch the Badger game if he gets here in time. On Sunday I talked about helping my mom declutter her house or paint a bedroom, but there's no firm plans. No plans for Monday.

I don't make many plans. The first goal everyday is to wake up and after that I'll see what would be good to do. I am resting up because the end of next week I am planning to drive up to Vermont for a week or so. That doesn't take a lot of energy but because of my back situation sitting for a long time makes for difficult walking initially, so I am a little anxious about that, but not enough to not go. Mule headed as I am. I haven't been up that way for around 7 years now.

When I was a kid, my family would go to a country fair on Labor Day weekend. It was the last fun thing to do at the end of the summer, before we had to go back to school.
In my town, there's always a fair the weekend after Labor Day. It used to be a lot more when I was a kid. Now it's pretty pathetic. But they do a parade and have a hypnotist, truck and tractor pulls, along with the normal carnival rides and games.

That sounds great. I hope your back does well and you have a good time.

That sounds like a fun vacation you have planned for Vermont. Don't forget to buy some maple syrup, to take home. :hungry:

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

It's going to start getting kind of cold for that before too long.
Our trailer is rated for 0° - 100°F.

It’s equipped with a/c, as well as an electric fireplace and a propane furnace. The furnace has kicked in quite a few times in the past few nights.

There’s a heat wave coming next week though - hottest days of the entire summer.

I lived in Vermont for over 50 years and in all that time I never bought one container of Maple Syrup. In fact, I never even had any that I was aware of until after I moved here and my sister used to send a pint container to my two daughters and myself for Christmas. We finally felt the need to tell her that none of us use enough to need replenishing every year so it stopped. I still have an unopened pint container of syrup in my cupboard.

I have recipes that use a pint of maple syrup.

I still wouldn't want to be in a camper when it's snowing.

Next week is supposed to be hot here, too. But not as hot as last week. Last week was brutal. Next week is a tad better.

I camped just outside of DC in a tent when it was about 100 in the daytime. Best camping trip ever, they played Bug's Life twice while I was there
I loved when we went camping as a kid. I remember some hot and some cold days. But above temperature, I remember the weather. One year we were camping on my birthday, and there was a tornado warning. We hung out in the bathrooms for a while. What a birthday. 🤣
