Missed our flight. We had a 3 hour 20 minute layover but our flight was supposed to arrive at 5:55pm....but we ran off the plane at 9pm. The next flight was also on Air Canada but they did not wait for us.
If we were allowed to go straight to the gate we could have made it....but we had to go thru customs and security even though we were security cleared in Philly. The 40 minutes it took to accomplish that doomed us.

That stinks, I suppose you had to do customs because you were in a different country. We had to do that when we had to connect through Amsterdam this summer. Since your plane doesn't leave until 11-something pm today what are you going to do?

We have a taxi picking us up here at the hotel at 12:30.The hotel is 35 minutes from the airport. We have vouchers from Air Canada....3 $15 food vouchers to eat in the airport. Since we have our luggage we need to do the 3 hour thing. Probably we will not do any short tourism...but if there is a quick bus tourism thing offered at the airport we might consider it. We have visited Toronto in the past. We went to the observation deck of the tower...had dinner in Chinatown....saw the excellent Aquarium. I even attended a Blue Jay's game. Maybe 7 years ago???

Rol San in Toronto Chinatown is famous and has incredible food. Lunch or dinner you cannot go wrong. Even the bagels in Toronto is top notch.

I did not lie. Circumstances changed. It is 2:07 am and we are still sitting in Toronto. A maintenance crew is thoroughly checking our landing gear that was damaged as the plane was being towed. It will take an hour we are told. I.....hate...flying now. I can't fly. I can't reach Copenhagen....I can't sleep. I should just stop posting because there is nothing you guys can do . Sorry for being such a downer.

Oh dear, I hope they fix the plane and you two can be on your way overseas. Sorry you've had so many delays. Flying shouldn't be this difficult. :(

Flying can be very stressful. I read a recent story in FB that a family group of 14 had their flight cancelled going to MCO. What they did was rent a charter bus with two company drivers ( 17 hour trip ) that cost them $8K to get them to Orlando and start their Disney vacation.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
@JenniferS , I was thinking about the kayak you were considering for purchase. I think the two-seater would be the best, because when you and Mike weren't using it together, you could let Daisy sit in the second seat. :) (She might not be any help with paddling through the water, but she'd still be good company!)
We bought it. It got delivered yesterday. Hoping to use it today. It’s actually a one OR two person kayak, depending upon where you clip the adjustable seats. Foreword and aft for two; in the middle for one.

I’m trying to track your flight online, but I need your flight number. Or just an update from you works too. Are you en route?

We ran thru the airport like crazy people....but it seems like we will actually make it to Copenhagen Denmark tonight🙃😲😉
There are 5 terminals. We came in on Terminal 2 and had a long walk to a shuttle bus. That bus took us to Terminal 5. Then we did security and had to take an elevator down to a Heathrow subway train which took people to Gate B...and eventually to "C Gates" that were up an escalator. I heard this is the world's busiest airport.
