Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

No plans to. Pretty sure it would give me seizures. 🤣

I still have a lot of my Barbies. eBay maybe now?
Before seeing it, I’d Googled box office numbers, and came across the recommendation to “put aside your expectations”. Good advice. It was not what I expected, but it was very good.

I’ll quote what I shared with two friends on another platform:

“Visually stunning, very bright, thought-provoking, put away all expectations, and I didn’t get the final punchline of the movie until I Googled it. Yes, I am that dense sometimes.

I always stay for end credits, and the four people behind me were having the most in depth discussion (of a non Schindler’s List-esque film) I’ve ever heard.

I believe it could further cement solid relationships and cause weak, wobbly, unequal relationships to fall apart.

Also, I must be the only woman in the universe to think Ryan Gossling is not hot.

And after you’ve both seen it, I will give you my Disney parallel summation in seven words.

Absolutely no spoilers were contained herein.”

I have not seen Barbie, and probably won't. I want to see Oppenheimer. I have a couple friends coming over Friday, and I might see if they want to go see it.

After that it'll be Haunted Mansion. That will probably have to wait until August 5/6th, because next weekend my dad and I are heading up to Green Bay for Packers training camp.

I think a lot of people are under the assumption that Barbie is a kids or teenie-bopper movie or that it just a chick flick. There were a lot of guys in our theater watching it and enjoying it too. It is not the kids movie/chick flick but it is fun and has a good message. I could have done without Will Farrell though. If you don’t see Barbie in the theater maybe catch it on a streaming service someday.

Oh and @JenniferS I don’t think you are alone on the Ryan Gosling thing. He is okay but not my dream boat.

In the battle of the Canadian born Ryans, Reynolds wins hands down.

After summer school today I met up with the teacher next door for lunch. I had an hour in between, so I moved some furniture around my room and tried a new layout. I think I really like the layout. After a few years of the same thing, it's nice to change it up.

After lunch, I helped the other teacher organize all of her things in the shelves and storage areas we have in our rooms. We pulled everything down, threw several things out, and then made piles on tables for different categories (reading, math, organization, arts/crafts, etc). She'll come back in on Wednesday, and we'll finish putting everything back in the cubbies and probably throw more things away as we go through them.

I had to move classrooms for this coming school year. So I packed up everything at the end of May and the janitors moved it to the new room. I still have to go in and unpack and arrange everything, maybe you want to come up and help since you have this practice under your belt. ;) :joyfull: HAHAH. We have a flex professional day to do in August so I will set up the room then, but I'm not quite ready yet.

I actually really like setting up classrooms! The organizing isn't as fun, but the layouts and putting furniture into place is right up my ally.

I couldn't get everything ready in just one day. It takes many, many hours. But I think elementary has more to set up than most grade levels.

I teach science so I have a lot of equipment. I don't really like to change things around once I'm settled. This is the 3rd time I've had to move classrooms, I hope it is the last.

I've only moved once, and it was during the covid year. So my first year in this room, I had to have desks 6 feet apart. I didn't really get to set it up. So I've had two years of the same setup, and I was ready to switch things up. I think my new layout will offer better traffic flow in certain areas, especially by the Chromebook station.

Plus, I'm going from the largest class sizes in the school to the smallest, so that affects things, too. At this point I only have 12 on my class list. The rest of my team has 13. If 12 holds, which it probably won't, I'm probably going to have the smallest class in the entire school.
