I wear.slippers around the house.

Dearfoams are my preferred brand. 😊

I'm a slippers gal too. Uniqlo used to sell Disney themed slippers at the Disney Springs location, they called them room shoes. I liked those a lot and still wear the couple I pairs I have, I have washed them a few times and they have help up well. I think Uniqlo still sells room shoes but I think just on their website now. Otherwise I like the Dearfoam ones too.

Although when I'm cleaning the house I usually wear a pair of Crocs that I only wear in the house.

I'm a barefoot person in the house, too. In the winter I'll wear slippers.

I feel like I've shared this before, but there are several countries where kids don't wear shoes inside. They either have "indoor shoes", like slippers, or they take their shoes off and wear socks or go barefoot. I would LOVE that as a teacher. The amount of crap that's brought in my classroom because of shoes is ridiculous. During the winter, it's always wet. The spring is the worst, when the snow melts and it's muddy outside. So much mud. If the kids could just go barefoot, it'd be great. Less wear and tear on rugs, too, even if their shoes are clean. Also, the kids love it.

Oh yes, I would love if kids wore slippers or something in the classroom. Sometimes the kids don't change their shoes (because the teacher doesn't make them) when they go outside for phy ed and bring a bunch of junk back. Or kids in general have been mucking around at home or in the barn and bring all that junk in. Although I have a few kids that want to go barefoot or around in their socks all the time.

Strikes “where @PUSH lives” off of places JenniferS wants to move to.
I don't live there, only work there. Where I live has a theater with 6 or 8 screens. But it's a pretty outdated theater, and the screens aren't that big. So you probably don't want to live here, either. You have to go to Madison to see anything in a decent theater, which is where we went to see Indy and Mission Impossible.

What do you wear in the house then? Do you just take shoes off at the door and go barefoot/stocking feet? Or do you change shoes? I have a friend from Malaysia, and apparently in a lot of Asian countries, it's considered rude to wear shoes inside because they can get so dirty outside, so it's expected that you take your shoes off at the door. She tells people to bring house slippers when they come visit. Here at home, I take off my shoes downstairs and wear slip on sport sandals around the house just because I like to curl up on the couch and we have a no shoes on the couch rule, but I HATE having bare feet. I can't stand for my bare feet to touch the floor, so I have sandals that I wear and keep by my bed or the couch, wherever I am sitting.
Me I go barefooted all year long unless I am working in my storage area

I don't take mine off at the door because I walk a carpeted hallway from the lobby door to my apartment. However, I don't like shoes, they never seem to fit right so the first thing I do is walk to my bedroom shed the shoes and use either slippers or 14 year old Mickey Clogs that my sister got me for my birthday.

Thank you sir. You were an inspiration.

That was a very considerate 21st birthday present.

Speaking of barefoot, Tuesday morning I woke up to find my left foot big toe, swollen, red and hurting. I have no idea why, all I know is that a walking situation, which was less then ideal to begin with, got considerably worse. I have been trying to figure out what happened. I cannot see anything that looks like a spot that might have gotten hurt, I almost always have something on my feet and am barefoot only when sleeping, bathing or in the process of putting my shoes on. I am at a loss. Whatever it is it isn't anything I ever had before. First I thought gout or even something random like a spider bite 🕷️ (neither of which I have had before). All I know is that it aches all the time and got me up at 4:30 AM because I couldn't sleep.

I usually try and wait awhile before getting the medical profession involved because always useful usually makes things worse before they get better and also I hate going to the VA for something that I only consider being a minor problem when there are so many others that really, really need attention much more than I. I have been watching it carefully and it doesn't seem to be expanding just not getting a whole lot better. Yesterday, I thought it was better because I was having less pain while walking.

It was good enough to go see Indiana Jones. As I watched that 80 year old body, being smashed around for over two hours, with almost no recognition to what reality would do to an 80 year old body my thoughts were, sure that's how it would happen. It was, however, a super exercise in almost insane amounts of suspension of disbelief. And here am I, five years younger practically immobilized by a sore toe. I wonder if Amazon carries leather jackets, brown fedora's and whips. That must be the secret. BTW, even though I spotted a couple of serious flaws in the story I still give it a ⭐⭐⭐⭐+ and tribute to the geriatric population rating.

Not sure about how your VA system works, but wondering if there might be a nurse call-in number. (Some medical places have a "nurse line" where you could call and ask a general question about something. A nurse might have an idea of how to proceed. Just a thought.)
