Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Speaking of barefoot, Tuesday morning I woke up to find my left foot big toe, swollen, red and hurting. I have no idea why, all I know is that a walking situation, which was less then ideal to begin with, got considerably worse. I have been trying to figure out what happened. I cannot see anything that looks like a spot that might have gotten hurt, I almost always have something on my feet and am barefoot only when sleeping, bathing or in the process of putting my shoes on. I am at a loss. Whatever it is it isn't anything I ever had before. First I thought gout or even something random like a spider bite 🕷️ (neither of which I have had before). All I know is that it aches all the time and got me up at 4:30 AM because I couldn't sleep.

I usually try and wait awhile before getting the medical profession involved because always useful usually makes things worse before they get better and also I hate going to the VA for something that I only consider being a minor problem when there are so many others that really, really need attention much more than I. I have been watching it carefully and it doesn't seem to be expanding just not getting a whole lot better. Yesterday, I thought it was better because I was having less pain while walking.

It was good enough to go see Indiana Jones. As I watched that 80 year old body, being smashed around for over two hours, with almost no recognition to what reality would do to an 80 year old body my thoughts were, sure that's how it would happen. It was, however, a super exercise in almost insane amounts of suspension of disbelief. And here am I, five years younger practically immobilized by a sore toe. I wonder if Amazon carries leather jackets, brown fedora's and whips. That must be the secret. BTW, even though I spotted a couple of serious flaws in the story I still give it a ⭐⭐⭐⭐+ and tribute to the geriatric population rating.

Not sure about how your VA system works, but wondering if there might be a nurse call-in number. (Some medical places have a "nurse line" where you could call and ask a general question about something. A nurse might have an idea of how to proceed. Just a thought.)

You'd think making plans would be easy as a teacher during the summer. Spoiler alert: it's not. The amount of back and forth I've been doing the past couple days is crazy.

I'm part of two different meetings that we've been trying to set up, and both have listed times and asked which days we're available. How am I supposed to know if I'm available if I don't know when the other meeting is? And on top of that, I've been waiting to hear back about scheduling something else. So who knows when I'm free? Not me!

But I think I'm pretty settled now. I only have one meeting that's up in the air.

I am feeling very thankful today! 😊
I am thankful that I confirmed that we have a 5 gig International plan with T Mobile and I'll be able to follow my google maps app while walking the city streets in Denmark and/or in Norway.
I am additionally thankful that I will be able to access the internet while out and about in Copenhagen or Oslo.
I will be coming on to wdwmagic and selecting this....
*
I have so many detailed instructions to myself here....and...it's SO HELPFUL that I didn't have to write it down on paper. In Europe I can just come to my wdwmagic thread and scroll to whatever I need to know based on where we are...or where we need to go :)

I was today years old when I realized Harrison Ford has some pretty strong Wisconsin ties. Apparently he went to college here at Ripon College. He wasn't doing well in school, and he decided to take an acting class even though he had stage freight. He was going to flunk out of college, but he didn't care because he thought he found his calling. He worked as part of a small theater group and married his wife here. They eventually moved out to Hollywood.

So if it wasn't for Wisconsin, Harrison Ford would have never been an actor!

He went to school in Illinois near Chicago. Apparently my husband's father went to the same high school and graduated just a year or two apart, Ford was older. I guess my husband's father didn't know him as it was a big school.
