Speaking of barefoot, Tuesday morning I woke up to find my left foot big toe, swollen, red and hurting. I have no idea why, all I know is that a walking situation, which was less then ideal to begin with, got considerably worse. I have been trying to figure out what happened. I cannot see anything that looks like a spot that might have gotten hurt, I almost always have something on my feet and am barefoot only when sleeping, bathing or in the process of putting my shoes on. I am at a loss. Whatever it is it isn't anything I ever had before. First I thought gout or even something random like a spider bite (neither of which I have had before). All I know is that it aches all the time and got me up at 4:30 AM because I couldn't sleep.
I usually try and wait awhile before getting the medical profession involved because always useful usually makes things worse before they get better and also I hate going to the VA for something that I only consider being a minor problem when there are so many others that really, really need attention much more than I. I have been watching it carefully and it doesn't seem to be expanding just not getting a whole lot better. Yesterday, I thought it was better because I was having less pain while walking.
It was good enough to go see Indiana Jones. As I watched that 80 year old body, being smashed around for over two hours, with almost no recognition to what reality would do to an 80 year old body my thoughts were, sure that's how it would happen. It was, however, a super exercise in almost insane amounts of suspension of disbelief. And here am I, five years younger practically immobilized by a sore toe. I wonder if Amazon carries leather jackets, brown fedora's and whips. That must be the secret. BTW, even though I spotted a couple of serious flaws in the story I still give it a + and tribute to the geriatric population rating.
Oops! I guess they might indeed carry it. Now onto eternal youth!
