Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Today @ 9am I report to the courthouse with other potential jurors.
They'll select 12 jurors and 2 alternates out of our group of 50.
I'm hoping to be excused but if God has other plans then so be it.
I got out of jury selection at the end of the first day at the courthouse. We went in the jury room and judge, both prosecution and defense with the accused person were present. It was a drug case and I advised when it came my turn to speak - he looked guilty. I was excused.

Cool story. I'm not gonna do that though ;)

Oh good! I'm happy for you! Do you have a certain period now in which you can't be called again? Do they tell you why you are dismissed, or just get a boot in the rear?
The county may not call me for jury duty for the next 3 years.
I was asked numerous questions by the judge while the Prosecutor and the Defense Council were also in the room.
When all questions were done the judge said I was dismissed.
It is not clear what was the key factor.
I have a hunch but I'm ready to move on to other topics rather than speculate.
Thanks for your post and thanks for caring. ;)

So, it's been a very stressful day, but the good thing is that I got our flights booked for Disney this summer. I've been dreading doing it because something always goes wrong with the payment and it's just super stressful, and also I was expecting it to be really expensive because of gas prices and just everything being expensive now, but it wasn't nearly as bad as I was expecting. And at least it's done.

And A's bike decided to carp out on him yesterday. The back tire just won't move. He walked it home yesterday and this happened before that the wheel cover shifted and was rubbing against the tire. So I tried to adjust it, which apparently only angered it even more and the tire was just locked. Wouldn't turn. So I had to literally pick up the back of the bike and wheel it on the front wheel all the way to the bike repair shop. And that sucker is HEAVY. Thank goodness it's only 2 blocks!!

And E is sick, and it's a test week, so she has no classes, just exams. And she has 2 every day. When I called the school to tell them she was sick, they told me "Well...ok....she can of course take the tests, but she gives up her right to a retake."(They are allowed to retake ONE test per period if they want to improve their grade. She's never needed it because she's never had a non-passing grade, and usually she has one of the highest grades in the class, and it's usually an A) I was like "Yeah..um...ok. She has a fever and a headache and sore throat" Like what do you expect me to say? That in that case she's not sick? Like, I can't magic away the flu or whatever she has. She needs to stay home. If she has to give up her right to a retake, so be it. She's done fine without them up to now anyway.

So it's been a real day.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
If the powers that be can’t be bothered to send jury duty questionnaire forms via registered mail, then they have no way of proving that I received the letter.

At least a dozen times a year I get mail for xx Wedgwood Drive and vice versa.

And that’s all I have to say about that.

Voir Dire is when both lawyers ask questions to potential jurors and can dismiss them for cause in jury selection however one won't be told the reason why they are dismissed . I can still recall the drug case jury selection I was in when the police were bringing the drug evidence into the courtroom during jury selection. The accused was present in handcuffs and the drugs were protected like someone was protecting the Crown Jewels of England. The prisoner was surrounded by cops since we were seated right next to the defense table.

Awww, how cute! How old were they? Like 6 or 7?
Younger by a year or two. I believe this was summer 2001 … so 6 1/3 and just turned 5.

They only played tee ball for 2 seasons - 2000 and 2001, so either 5 1/3 and 4 or as I initially thought 6 1/3 and 5.

Keep in mind, they were both very tall, so I have to look at things like dentition.
