Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

There are already 100 school closings in the area for tomorrow. Lots of ice farther south, lots of ice farther north. Potential for power outages with the ice on power lines in our area. Roads may be impassable.

We are closed through Thursday, our students already had Friday off it is a professional development day. We are just getting a ton of snow .

I'm done with conferences for the year! Well, I had one reschedule because the weather is affecting her internet today, but I'm still considering myself done. Woo! I absolutely hate conferences. And I'm not sure why... they usually go well.
What’s your weather like? Pretty gross here. Just waiting for the Ski to get home from work, and then I can take a big sigh of relief.

We've had freezing rain pretty consistently today. I haven't left my apartment today, so I don't know exactly what it's like. I've heard the roads are ice covered, though. Madison Public Schools already cancelled for tomorrow, and they never close. They're 70 miles away, but still.

I have conferences next week so I'm jealous of you being done with them. I dread them too and they usually go well.
It's the extra hours on top of everything else. And this year conferences fell right during a whole bunch of other events. The past two weeks have been super busy, but next week goes back to a little bit of normalcy.

Extra hours and usually the parent come that don't really have to because their kids are doing great. Or I get the parents that have a melt down about everything in their life and use me as a therapy session, so it is a lot of social interaction I don't really want.

We have all the parents come. But it's a little different with the different ages we teach. With the first principal I had (I'm on my third), we had to contact parents who didn't sign up or were no-shows in several different ways and document when and how we contacted them. Now I don't contact them at all if they didn't sign up. We have sign ups through our parent communication app, ClassTag, and teachers can see who has viewed the post. All 19 families viewed mine. Three didn't sign up. I'm not reaching out to you. I've gotten to the point where I'm done enabling parents.

Our power flickered about 120 minutes ago. Was only out 5-10 seconds … long enough to reset my PVR and all of the digital clocks.

We’re lucky though, as most of the north end of the city is still out. My cousin gave up and went to bed.

I just sent up a quick word of thanks to the Big Guy that this never happened while Auntie was still home. I would have had mere minutes to get her hooked up to the liquid oxygen in the garage … all by the light of a flashlight. No candles of course, because of the oxygen.

Hoping we make it through the night with no loss of power. It will get mighty cold in here, mighty fast.

Stay safe friends who are also facing this storm.
