My driver’s licence says I am 163 cm. If you ask me, I will tell you that I am 5’ 4” AND A QUARTER. Weight is not listed on DL or passport.@JenniferS, I randomly got to wondering how Canadians measure their height... in feet/inches or using the metric system. I Googled and found that Canada officially uses the metric system to do it, but if you ask anyone they'll use feet and inches. So my question is... first, is that true? Second, if so do official documents like driver's licenses and medical record show height and weight using the metric system?
Driving speed is in Celsius ? Why not Fahrenheit like normal peopleMy driver’s licence says I am 163 cm. If you ask me, I will tell you that I am 5’ 4” AND A QUARTER. Weight is not listed on DL or passport.
Much of Canada is made up of recent immigrants, and most new immigrants measure in metric, so it totally depends who you ask. I dare say, most will still give you their height in feet/inches.
Temperature is almost exclusively Celsius, as is driving speed.
Does this help?
My experience tells me that the driving speed in Canada is measured by the volume one uses for the phrase "are you freaking kidding me, eh".Driving speed is in Celsius ? Why not Fahrenheit like normal people
No, you're mixing that up with the speed below the Canadian border -- but without the "eh" at the end of your statement. My experience tells me that the driving speed in Canada is measured by the volume one uses for the phrase "are you freaking kidding me, eh".
Yes. Thank you. I'm not sure why I randomly got to thinking about it.My driver’s licence says I am 163 cm. If you ask me, I will tell you that I am 5’ 4” AND A QUARTER. Weight is not listed on DL or passport.

I bought new airpods. Mine went through the washing machine and only one survived but since the case needs to communicate with BOTH they wont charge. Grr. Anyway the older ones are on sale for $89. Score. The next two days are Amazon Prime Days. That means I'll get to spend two straight days watching for deals that I probably won't take and don't need. Last year's Prime Day was a giant bust IMO. The first time they had them, I got a lot of good finds.
I've ordered flip flops and an Under Armour polo. I also ordered some fake plants for my classroom, but those weren't on a Prime Day deal. I need fake plants, because I am not someone to take the time and effort to water plants. But at the same time, I want a little more "nature" in my classroom since I don't really get any natural light in my room.I bought new airpods. And now you’re going to make me go back and edit ….Driving speed is in Celsius ? Why not Fahrenheit like normal people
Here's a video on how to open stuck plastic bags (the one shown is a plastic grocery bag, but the woman's hint should work on any stuck plastic bag.) I think we've all been through this!My problem is sooo tiny compared to @PUSH's post...
...but I have spent a lot of time trying to get the top of this bag to open. I massage it..
.....I pinch either side and pull in opposite directions. The stupid plastic will not separate!View attachment 653025
After I posted my frustration here, I handed the bag to my 20 yr old and she opened it in 30 seconds. Here's a video on how to open stuck plastic bags (the one shown is a plastic grocery bag, but the woman's hint should work on any stuck plastic bag.) I think we've all been through this!

That is something I've never tried. Next time I need to open a bag like the image in my post I will try that for sure!I will watch the video immediately and then report back.
That’s how I have to do it. I have to add the extra step of lifting my mask first. Here's a video on how to open stuck plastic bags (the one shown is a plastic grocery bag, but the woman's hint should work on any stuck plastic bag.) I think we've all been through this!
