I’ve met quite a few people now.

Many years ago @Tuvalu mentioned that she would be at the Poly at the same time we were going to be at Kona for breakfast. It was pretty early in my days of meeting people, so I didn’t hop right on it. Huge regrets. I think she would be one of the coolest people to meet in person.

We wave hello to her every time we drive through Atlanta, but it’s really not the same thing.

Consider this, I met @NYwdwfan here on the forums, and then numerous times in NYC, and then the two of us flew across the country separately and spent a week together at the Grand Californian. I consider her to be one of my best friends ever.

Moral of the story - never pass up the opportunity to meet an online friend in real life.
💯 times this.

I still regret that I couldn't/didn't make it work to meet up with you all in NYC at Christmastime a few years ago (2017? 2018?)(you all=you, Mike, and @NYwdwfan, if IIRC, around Grand Central)

Today was a really nice intro to our vacation. It was nice to see the monorail resorts on a quick walk through. It was also fun to see fireworks from the Contemporary. We've never done that before.

Initial thoughts on Enchantment...

It's better in person than video. I'm still withholding judgement until I see it when I'm actually at MK.

Tomorrow's plans: sleep until whenever. Maybe do breakfast at the food court. Then transfer to POFQ around 11. If we can get in our room, we will. If not, we'll take a boat to DS if the weather is nice. Also may park at DHS and do the Skyliner resorts. Our first park day isn't until Wednesday.

Also, I think I said this last time in 2019, too... I wish there were more kids in my family that I could come down with. Obviously as a 1st grade teacher, I love kids, and I've seen so many kids having fun already. I would love to see Disney through their eyes. I think 7 or 8 would be a really fun age to have down here.

Just gotta get those breaks in before I get they get cranky.

My boys were exactly 7 and 8 when we first took them. Perfect age!

And of those 3 inactive hours, if my watch hadn’t been charging, I would have ticked off one, maybe two more boxes. (I was up from 5:55 - 6:05 making sure Ski was up for his earlier than normal work start time.)

You will?
That's coming up soon! :)
Yep! And now I'm a bit worried about the Yellowstone part of the trip....it's flooded and all entrances into the park are closed. The article I read said that the town of Gardiner, Montana, where we are staying for one night, could take months to repair that road....we are supposed to be there in a month. 😬 I guess we'll see if I get any sort of notification that the hotel I booked is closed, etc. We are hitting all the historical sites and natural sites in Wyoming and popping over to South Dakota to the Badlands, Keystone, Rushmore, Jewel Cave, Custer state park, etc.

I grew up in Northeastern Wyoming, and we went to South Dakota several times a year to visit the sites. I took the kids in 2016 and we saw Wind Cave, Mount Rushmore, and Custer State park, and we ate dinner in Deadwood and had lunch in Keystone, but we didn't really get to see much, and we skipped the badlands and Jewel Cave. So we'll do those this time. But we're going to Yellowstone, Fort Caspar, Independence Rock, Fort Laramie, a few museums, and visiting people in my hometown for a few days, then going to Laramie to visit my brother so my daughter can do her English-speaking work experience for school. She's going to work in my brother's restaurant. And I have some cousins coming out from Tennessee, Illinois, and Iowa and will visit their brother/uncle/ my cousin who lives in Pinedale. BIG trip. The kids are really excited about Yellowstone, so I hope the roads are open again then and they get everything back in order. Otherwise I have a big problem. At least all the hotels I booked have free cancellation!
