Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

… and during that same trip my husband and I were seated at the Biergarten with a family from RI who also turned out to be a member on the boards here, it was Nemo 14.
It’s funny how small the world/World really is.

I know lots of us have met up intentionally, but it’s the serendipitous run-ins that interest me. For instance, I wonder how many of you met our old friend @Eric1955 without knowing. Very few people knew it at the time, but he was a CM at MK, which is why he was able to spend so much time with Mike and I.

How is Eric? He hasn’t been around these parts in a long time. Last I remember he was going for a radiology degree.

I miss Nemo. 😔

We'll probably overlap. My dad and I are down here by ourselves until Friday. Then my mom, brother, and his fiancee are joining Friday. My aunt, uncle, cousin, other cousin, and her fiance are meeting us Saturday. So at that point it's 10 people and that's when all of our real reservations and everything starts.
If I had the opportunity to say hello to Amy and Brad in person, I’d be all over it. They are a hoot, I’m sure!

And excuse me, @ajrwdwgirl, are you even home from DL yet?

I would love to meet up with you or anyone here. I got back from California at 5:15am yesterday. I took the red eye back on Friday. I spent most of yesterday sleeping! Tomorrow is some spring cleaning in the house and then packing again for Florida!

I’ve met quite a few people now.

Many years ago @Tuvalu mentioned that she would be at the Poly at the same time we were going to be at Kona for breakfast. It was pretty early in my days of meeting people, so I didn’t hop right on it. Huge regrets. I think she would be one of the coolest people to meet in person.

We wave hello to her every time we drive through Atlanta, but it’s really not the same thing.

Consider this, I met @NYwdwfan here on the forums, and then numerous times in NYC, and then the two of us flew across the country separately and spent a week together at the Grand Californian. I consider her to be one of my best friends ever.

Moral of the story - never pass up the opportunity to meet an online friend in real life.

Well that's an interesting tidbit about Eric -- I never knew he used to be a CM at MK. I really enjoyed his time here on the thread, and know that he would have been a great CM, as he was always so kind to people.

I met my husband online, and I have several close friends who I met on a Harry Potter fan forum....one of them is having a book published and I'm going to the launch in November. I agree....never pass up the opportunity, as long as you do it safely. Meet in a public place, for example. But I've probably met around 50 people from various forums and online games and such.

Heading down for breakfast in a little bit. Then we'll come back up to the room, finish getting ready, pack up, then get in the car for the rest of the way. It should be around 8 hours. Maybe 8.5 if you include stops. Yesterday's drive didn't seem as long as I thought it would, so hopefully today's is similar.

What is the total mileage?

I'm doing my best to consider (sob) that not mentioning meeting me in NC, (sigh) was just a minor forgetful moment. I remember meeting you like it was yesterday. You, the tall blond with your tiny husband and that lovely accent that I assumed you got from living in southern Canada, eh, y'all!

One of our upcoming trips in the RV will be down your way. We’ll do dinner this time.

The hitch is being installed as we speak. We’ll do a few close-to-home trips until we know what we’re doing, but before the end of summer, Mike is definitely going to want to head south. Assuming we can afford the gas. 🤦🏻‍♀️

We'll have to coordinate next time Jennifer and I are in DL. Yes there will be a next time. Probably in a bit of a while but it's definitely happening! Little known fact - I keep the hotel map in a drawer I use daily so I don't forget the layout.
