Bought at end of season 2021 prices, free storage until we pick it up in the spring.

Now to buy a vehicle that can haul it. This floor plan is referred to as a “full time couple’s trailer”. Sleeps two comfortably (in the upgraded King-sized bed) … four in a pinch.
That will be a lot of fun! We used to go camping all the time when I was a kid. We went with aunts, uncles, and cousins.

As @ajrwdwgirl mentioned, Wisconsin has a lot of great campgrounds, and we are welcoming to Cananadians!

Uncle Joe won’t let us in yet.

We had a camper trailer in 2010 and 2011 we bought for my mom. It was such a hassle getting the kids out there every weekend. After my mom died, we couldn’t get rid of it fast enough.

I couldn’t stand the clique-ness, the politics, and the permanence of trailer park camping. If you had a bad neighbour, it wasn’t for a night or two, it was for five months.

I want to visit many locations, go day tripping, see the mountains one month, and the ocean the next. I’m getting excited!

Wisconsin doesn't have oceans, but it does have some really nice lakes. And Lake Michigan is like an ocean without the sharks and whales. There's a really nice campground right on the lake called Kohler-Andrae State Park. We went there a couple times when I was younger. Beautiful beaches, and boardwalk paths through sand dunes.

And after you're done you can go the Devils Lake State Park. Great hiking along the bluffs and lake. And that's a lot closer to me, so you can say hi.

...when the border opens, of course.

I am proof-reading 50+ pages of a fine print Purchase and Sale Agreement for a new Builder we’ve just signed up. It was written by a lawyer for a lawyer. Last I checked, I am not a lawyer.

My eyes are glazed over. Hopefully not permanently.

That being said, I’ve found a few typos and a couple of actual errors. Ten pages to go.

After you've read it, maybe also run it by the lawyer for (whatever company that you work for) to review as well?

And that is the way to do it. I have always been against those bus type campers. If you wanted to leave your campsite you had to take the whole place with you or tow a car behind. With a fifth wheel setup, you can have both a settled in location for exploring and no need for hotel rooms or extra vehicle.

I wrote a family book a few years back on my adventures in camping and why I hate it, but I know that others do enjoy it and if I were ever do go back to it, (I won't) what you have (so far) is the way I would want to travel. There is so much of Canada to see as well as the US (if we still exist after the Pandemic) a few test trips before hitting a big one will be well worth it.

I'm exhausted. It was our first day today. I'm ready to curl in bed and sleep for the next couple days. It's like herding cats over the first couple of days.

We had transition days on Monday and Tuesday but they weren't required, but most of the middle school kids showed up. So I've been pretty wiped out since Monday. Today was our first official day and it went pretty well, but the herding cats thing is a good analogy.

This sounds bad as a teacher, but I hate the first few weeks of school. I hate explaining all the routines and procedures. It's so much more fun once those are all taught, and the kids know what to do.

I saw a post on Facebook that said "Watch for the pumpkins". Meaning that when you start seeing pumpkins around, kids are settling into their routines, and we've gotten past the onboarding phase of the school year.

I agree that getting them into the routine is not much fun. I teach 7,8, & 9 grade science so the first year they are learning the routine and the next year is reminding them of it, and by 9th grade they are like "yeah yeah we know".

Meanwhile if my kids were virtual last year, they've never been in school for a full day. The last time they'd be in school was 4K, and if they didn't do 4K they've never been in a school setting. None of my kids have eaten in a cafeteria.

Today for my school district was the first required day for teachers to report. We all had come in previously at random times.
Today we heard 2 key note speakers and then we traveled to our various buildings to hear what our principal(s) had to say.
The students in my town do not come for the first day until next week.
Yet don't forget, our last day of school each year is much later than my 2 teacher friends on this thread.

Our school district use to pool with another district to higher a keynote/motivational speaker for our first couple days of in-service. I'm glad they don't do that anymore. The speakers we all quite good, but most of us in our heads were making lists of all the things we wanted to get done to start off the year. I wouldn't mind a speaker coming in mid-year, we all need a little pump up at that time.
