Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

We had to get a large turkey because the medium ones were sold out. Just extra leftovers, I guess.
That's what I miss about the old family days. My wife and I were always hosting both Thanksgiving and Christmas dinners and we always had days worth of left overs. I miss the left overs. Turkey & dressing sandwiches, open faced turkey sandwiches with gravy, turkey rice soup, turkey pot pie, turkey and dumplin's and did I mention turkey & dressing sandwiches! I still get the dinners from my kids. Three actually one family of 9 people including me (our state has suggested 10 or less) and split Christmas. Noon meal of usually ham at one house and Evening meal of Prime Rib at the other. Now I can't remember why I was complaining. I got it made!

We got a turkey and a ham and told everyone to park around the block. The stool pigeons will never figure it out.... :hilarious:

Actually, really just DW and I this year. Rona is really hitting hard around us and we don’t want to add to the statistics.... :(

Yup, just hubs and me, too, for dinner at home. Thankful we have food for the table; some people are not so fortunate, especially this year. I really can't complain about much.

Have a wonderful holiday with your wife at home. I'm sure your dinner will be delicious.

2020 is a complete bust. We all need to do whatever it takes to make sure 2021 doesn’t follow the same path.

Toronto and Peel Region go back into full lockdown in less than 2 hours.

The border closure has been extended to December 21st at least.

What’d I tell you - total write off. 🙁

What do you mean by "a total write off"? You're still alive and well aren't you?

I meant in terms of social gatherings.

I didn’t see anyone from my family (except the four of us who live in one household) for Thanksgiving. And Christmas will be the same.

I’ve never had Christmas without my brothers -and then their families. It’s going to be tough, but if we don’t want 2021 to be more of the same, we have to make the sacrifices this year.

I think we're going to have to go visit my in-laws this weekend. We haven't seen them since September, and they are chomping at the bit. My MIL swears we're allowed 6 people to visit, but the government website says 3, kids 12 and under don't count. A is 12 for another 2 weeks, which means we only count for 3 until then. But my house is a MESS because my husband works from home and I can't clean during the day while he's working, but I work in the evening, so I can't do it then either. And my in-laws have been known to jump in the car and come unannounced if they feel like it's been too long. So I guess we'll be making the trip there this weekend for a couple of hours of distanced togetherness. I'd rather not chance it, but I'm afraid if we don't, they'll come here anyway and we won't have a choice.

My brother came over to pick up some medical supplies for his wife (she broke her foot, so a lot of my broken leg/hip replacement aides came in handy) and I sent him back out to his car for his mask.

It is what it is. And what it is - is my house/my rules.

Last year on New Years day, they came over and banged on the door and windows for a full 5 minutes or more until we opened the door. We didn't know they were coming and we were trying to ignore whomever it was pounding on the door. We thought maybe neighborhood kids or something...the neighbor girl has been known to do that. But we had been up late, obviously, and were still in our PJs and didn't want to answer the door. All the curtains were closed so no one could see that we were home. We figured when no one answered, whoever it was would go away....we were wrong. After 5 minutes of knocking, they started lifting up the mail slot and shouting inside along with the knocking. We don't want a repeat, so we'll just go there this weekend to give them their fix.

We are supposed to get wet, sloppy snow tomorrow. I'm thankful that I am working from home, so I don't have to drive in it.
I played golf today, temps in the 60's a little cool, but nothing shocking. I'm supposed to play again on Wednesday and the forecast is for the 60's again. Gosh, do I miss that snow stuff. (hopefully that hint of sarcasm came through with that last statement). 😇
