are you able to get in the school to print out packets of material for home learning and when can you teach remotely from school premises
We had about 1 hour to prep over a month's worth of materials to send home on 10/27, not knowing if we were going to be able to have any pick ups in between. We were told this week that we are having a pick up on Thursday and Friday, so our team went in yesterday afternoon to put some more things together for the next couple weeks.

It's really hard to have things prepared when we don't know when or if we'll have pick ups.

So are you teaching from home then? We were told if we go virtual we are still expected to come into the building to teach virtually in our classrooms and the teachers with day care issues could have the possibility of bringing their children into their classroom.

The first time we went virtual, we had to come in. This time, we were told to stay home for the first two weeks, since pretty much everyone came in contact with at least one person who tested positive (we had a slew of positive tests come back on the same day). We received an email saying we can continue to work from home until November 30th, and if we want to teach from our classroom, talk to our principal. My team kind of took that as they didn't want us to be in the building.

And even if I wanted to teach from school, I can't because my custodian started cutting out my old closets to replace them with new cubbies and hooks. This is something we started doing a couple years ago, but it would have been nice of him to let me know. Because now he took all of my stuff out of the closets and put it all over my room, and it's all collecting sawdust. If one of my team teachers hadn't let me know, and I didn't go in to prepare things for a pickup, I would have returned to school when kids come back and been SOL.

Mike and I went back to Niagara on the Lake today. Pretty much finished our Christmas shopping at Gretzky’s Winery. Booze for everybody this year; they’ve earned it.

From there, we went and sat by the water; did some shopping; and had dinner.

OMG! A plaque for moi -- be still my heart! :inlove: Jennifer, you are the best!!! :joyfull:

It would be very cool to see some of those old 1800s-era newspapers. I love old things like that. :)
Well you certainly live in the right place if you love that kind of old historical stuff...in the US at least. As far as the US goes, you can't beat the East coast/new England area for history!

This article caught my eye this morning. Dang, I wish I had something "old" to sell. It's amazing (can't think of another word to use) how much money some people will pay for nostalgia items. I like what they bought from one of my all-time favorite Christmas shows, but the price tag?!! :p

I have a Light up molded Santa that is illuminated by a regular old type Christmas tree bulb. My parents bought for me when I was about 6 months old. It is a stand alone decoration that stands about 10 inches tall. It is one of the few things that I usually put out at Christmas time. It is 71 years old now and you can tell by the wiring. It is still safe, but will need a new electrical cord very soon. Probably this year. It probably only is worth something to me. That said....

This one isn't mine, but it is the same design.

I’ve been slammed too. I would normally be working from home, but we’ve got some new substations that we want to get energized, so I’ve been spending time out of town helping out. I’ll be out this week again. On another front, our next door neighbors just tested positive. We haven’t seen them in well over a week and we don’t have any symptoms. But still, a close call....

In that game where I try to name as many US cities as possible, I am now up to 2,148 cities, with a total population of 98,574,906, which is 42.04% of the US population.

Granted, I have been cheating a little bit. Anytime I see a city on a map, or see a city on a website, or hear the name in a show, I will put it in. Previously I was just trying to guess cities, but that became far too hard after a while.

I’ve been working. Not sure what anyone else has been up to.

PS - 70 down/13 to go. I’m ready to switch to virtual selling any time now. Because ... reasons.
Working, and then this weekend, I needed some down time, so I watched the Mistle Tones on Disney+ and then I watched Noelle again. It was so cute....we watched it last year several times, and even my son watched it and loved it, which he normally can't sit through a whole movie. But he LOVES sheep, and the little reindeer looks kind of like a lamb, so he LOVES snowcone and we got him a stuffed lamb for Christmas last year and he named it snowcone. So I had just started Noelle last night and he came in just as Snowcone came in, and his eyes got big, he ran into his room to get Snowcone, and then ran back and jumped on the bed with me to watch. He's not usually a snuggler at all, so it was really sweet that he wanted to come in and watch with me.

Then today I did a Fantastic Beasts movie marathon.

Just an fyi: I noticed that Marni shared (in the Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance thread), that all 4 WDW parks reached capacity levels this past weekend. 😲 That was a surprise, but maybe I haven't been following attendance figures that closely for quite a while
