Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Hey guys, I'm @Nemo14 's son David. I knew that this particular thread was Mom's regular haunt, and I was afraid of the news getting lost in the noise (and please let me know if any of this is inappropriate or against thread rules and whatnot), hence the separate thread. This forum, and this thread in particular, brought Mom countless hours of joy, and I really cannot overstate how grateful I am that she had a space to be the silly, caring, and wonderful person she was.

Rather than hijack this thread, please feel free to talk on the Chit Chat thread, or DM me if you would like.

Your mom was a staple on these forums for many, many years. Her wit, advice, optimism and tough love when we needed it were just a few of the wonderful traits that made me look forward to chatting with her every day. I got to meet up with her and your dad twice while at Disney Springs. They got a kick out of my New York accent (I contend I don’t have an accent!) She was a remarkable woman and a resilient fighter. She will be missed. Thank you so much for filling us in. I know it couldn’t have been easy.

It seems so cruel that she had such a short time to enjoy being done with chemo. I loved seeing her Eagle pictures. I don't think it's hijacking this thread at all...this is where we all chatted. It's right that we should all grieve here together. She was such an integral part of this thread. We all missed her when she stepped away, and hoped for her healing. Now we'll all be here for each other and remember her and celebrate together that we got to know her. Thank you for coming here to let us know. I don't think everyone here visits the outside threads often. And it's nice to know that she was so fond of this particular thread. I wish I had joined this thread sooner to get to know her better.

No way...

My condolences for your loss. She was always nice all the years I’ve been here on this forum.

I thought he was in remission?
To my knowledge there are very few that survive Pancreatic cancer. It sometimes slows down growth but if you are diagnosed it is a good idea to brace yourself. I have had three family members and friends that passed away from that Cancer and the longest any lived was about 16 months and that was just one. Another only lasted two weeks. It is a nasty, nasty disease. He certainly had the will to keep going and that is probably why he lived as long as he did. RIP, Alex!

@JenniferS , what kind of dog food does Daisy like? We mix a few brands together for Jack. He eats like a horse, and then tries to steal any unguarded food (of ours) that he can, from the kitchen.

And that's the thing about him -- he'll eat anything. He may as well be a goat, because if he can't swipe any extra food from us, he'll eat dumb stuff -- like paper, plastic, a pen (he did that last week :rolleyes:), a wooden ruler, cardboard boxes, shoelaces, and the list goes on and on. 🤦‍♀️ Just when we think we've dog-proofed the place, he'll find something else stupid to gnaw on. I'm sure Daisy must be a breeze to deal with in comparison. ;)

My daughters Jack Russell, got into my granddaughters purse and ate a complete bag of chips, bag and all. The vet had to make him vomit to empty his stomach because otherwise nothing was going to move without surgery. They brought him back home and he still acted weird so they took him back to the vet and then they found a "wad of cotton attached to a string" lodged under his tongue. They had to put him under to get that out. I always thought I heard how smart Jack Russell's were, this one seems to be running head to head with a bucket of rocks.

@ajrwdwgirl and @PUSH ,
I'm sure glad I am not a School District Superintendent these days.
Whatever decision they make, half the population doesn't like it.
It's tough to be them!

agreed. The number of cases In Our area are rising. We have students in the gyms practicing remote learning along with some in our classroom. Today our head janitor was supervising a classroom of kids! Stay safe.

We've been virtual learning again since October 29th, and we are going until at least December 1st due to multiple staff members and students testing positive, and essentially half of the student population needing to quarantine. We only came back in person for a week and a half before having to switch back. During that week and a half, one of our secretaries was subbing for PE.
