Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
That is about to be me tomorrow... let's see how that goes. I've been wearing one more lately now that I've been back in the building, but I haven't had to talk to kids until tomorrow. I'll be taking 2 or 3 since I know they can get damp.
Don’t pop a breath mint. Or do ... I’d like to know if it’s just me.

I would make one of these social distancing buffers

Haha! We talked about that later....we had just been talking about how much fun those human-sized gerbil ball things look. E says "We need those!!" And my husband said "Yeah, put the woman in one and then kick it away." He said if he'd have been there and she'd refused to back off, he'd just have turned and coughed all over her, and if she said anything, he'd tell her not to be a drama queen.

It’s not so much the breathing out of your mouth, it’s the speaking. That’s all I do at work is talk.
That makes much more sense then. I can see how that would pose a problem. Is this work for the new site? I guess I didn't think you'd have much contact with other people yet. I thought a lot of it might be by phone, contacting potential buyers, or online uploading pictures and such. How much do you have to be in close proximity to other people for your job? Is that an every day all day thing, or just incidental?

We had inservice this past week including one day that was from 12-8 with individual appointments for 7th grade and new student orientation. Which I kind of liked, it was the first year we did it, but it made it more personal for the student, family, and us. Anyway, Monday is an inservice day and the kiddos come on Tuesday. Our calendar committee did something a little different this year since it is not our Spring Break year, they gave us one long weekend at the end of February, a longer Easter break and a weird April 30th (on Friday) off.
Veteran staff had inservice on Wednesday and Thursday this past week, and then we are not contracted again until Tuesday when the kids come back. But of course we are going to be working the other days. I spent yesterday working on my first week lesson plans, and Monday I'm going in to meet with my team and prep for the first week.

Normally we have a week off for spring break, then Good Friday and Easter Monday off whenever Easter falls. But this year, Easter falls early in April, so our spring break is the last week of March through Easter Monday.
We don’t have the term “inservice” here. We have “teacher development” days built into the calendar. Does it sound like that’s the same?

My office door is now open, although I have to limit the number of people due to capacity limitations and physical distancing requirements.

I wear a mask, and sanitize my hands when buyers come in. While they sanitize their hands, I am behind a plexi shield, and sanitize the pen they use to fill out the registry/contact tracing form.

I then re-sanitize my hands after taking the pen and paper back, but before handing them the brochure package.

If they want to peruse the renderings, I stay 2 metres away and answer their questions. It’s difficult to hear people through the masks, so I do my best to speak clearly and project. I still have to repeat myself multiple times.

The process of getting an offer signed is about twice as long because of the sanitizing/distancing/paper handling measures.

I’ve trimmed my nails super short, because at the end of the day I have so much sanitizer caked on and under my nails that I have to use a nail brush and file to remove it. Not even washing a huge load of dishes in hot! soapy water works.

I’m trying to push as many sales out as I can before the presumed second wave comes in the fall. Some predict we’ll be okay. Some predict another full shutdown. Either way, I’ve become fairly adept at the virtual/DocuSign sales process as well.

September 1st. Hard to believe, the start of September many times meant light-jacket weather when I was a young child going to school... down in Georgia. 🤯

Now, reaching September means we have about a month left of the miserable heat during the day, and fingers crossed October will bestow mercy, but no guarantees.

Being from Vermont, we always had our State Fair the week before Labor Day. We didn't start school until after Labor day. If we went to the Fair it was always very warm during the day and if you didn't have a coat for the evening you would freeze. See your breath... the works. We always looked at the Fair as the end of summer. That was it... fun time over let's start getting ready for the upcoming "leaf peepers season" followed by what seemed like 8 months of winter. Here in NC summer lasts a little longer and winter is much, much shorter. This coming weekend Vermont is expecting 72 for the day and 54 at night. It will start going downhill from there very rapidly. We never really expected snow until possibly November and the hunters prayed for snow cover to track deer around Thanksgiving. But like an unwelcome relative it just stayed and stayed and stayed for what seemed like a lifetime.

Near 90s today and Friday. Into the 90s tomorrow and Thursday.

Used to be unheard of, even down here, past the mid-August timeframe.
