From the POR arrival/boat ride to DS:

We always enter this side door that leads right to the check in lobby. I'm not sure why, but that just feels like home when I walk through those doors. The main doors don't as much.

Down at the dock waiting for the boat. You can actually see our room from here. It's right at the top of that staircase across the river.

I don't remember the boat ride being so overcast.

From the Coronado Springs tour:

I was amazed at the size of the swimming pool, for a "moderate" (Disney's term) resort. Years ago, I couldn't get over how small the pool was at the Polynesian (volcano pool), for the mammoth size of that resort. The concept was cool and all, but that pool was way too small. (They also had a small, quiet pool, but that was also too small.)

So I'm impressed with that feature at Coronado Springs. (Never been there -- only seen various pictures in TRs.)

I hope the NBA players enjoy it.

Good thing we’ve decided we aren’t going anyway, because I’m expecting an email from Disney any day giving us our eviction orders. Should be fun to see where they wish to relocate us.

Here’s a study in contrasts.

WHO reports the largest ever single day increase in COVID infections; while at the same time Canada reported only 6 deaths nation-wide, the lowest since the end of March.

In a related story, more than 2/3 of Canadians don’t want to relax physical distancing rules imposed to curb the spread of COVID-19, a new poll suggests.

I hope this doesn’t seem political - it’s just a regular question - in your opinion do Canadians generally trust the media? I feel like there is a growing distrust of the media in our country and a large portion of the population that thinks the pandemic is blown out of proportion and thus they are ignoring guidelines and safety precautions. Or they’re just dumb. I read stories every day about people who were known to poo-poo the precautions and then were sharing their tale of woe.

Number of cases is used to indicate positive test results and not necessarily those that require hospitalization leading to possible death. It is good that the fatality numbers are low at this point, but, if the results of the test rise it might mean nothing or it might mean the their positive test will turn into an active case of illness. This thing has been totally fickle. I only look at two numbers. How many are actually sick enough to be admitted to the hospital (or to hospital in Canadian) and the second is the number of deaths at any given time. That quantity changes from day to day. Some days higher, some days no movement at all or no deaths at all.

The testing is something I watch to see what degree that this thing has spread which is why testing is important in determining if it is less or increasing relative to the number of test taken. The total positive numbers alone mean absolutely nothing in connection with the severity of the results. The important thing is the number of the hospital census vs. death count.

One year ago today was our first morning in the parks. We went to MK and parked in Simba 114 (no, I don't have that good of memory... it's in my camera roll). It looks like we started off by going to BTM, followed by HM. Then we went out to the Little Mermaid ride (I can never remember to full name of that ride). From there it appears we went over to a FP at Space Mountain. We had lunch at CHH, and then went to PotC. After that we went back over to Tomorrowland to ride the Peoplemover.

From there we got on a monorail and went back to POR. Later in the day we went to Epcot. We rode SSE, then went to Club Cool. My favorite drink was Bibo from South Africa. We then went to ride LwtL, but it closed before the rest of the park, so we didn't get on it. Instead we went to ride Nemo and walk around the aquarium. And now as I'm going through my camera roll, I realize the reason we went to Epcot this night... we got a Soarin' FP! So we rode Soarin'. It looks like we walked around a bit, looking at the light-up sidewalks and enjoying the atmosphere.

We headed back to POR and hung out at the River Roost for a little bit. For those that don't know, the River Roost is their bar/lounge area.

Come back tomorrow for a morning at DHS and another evening at Epcot! Picture from today to come.

This was our view as we walked out of our room. It honestly was not the best view we've had, though. We had a "garden view" two trips ago. It was on the 3rd floor, but it overlooked the courtyard and right onto the river. It was my favorite room we've ever had. This room was on the 2nd floor, and trees kind of blocked the amazing view until we got outside at little bit.

Some more pictures. I had a lot from this day. I think one more post after this should do it.

I really like the feel of The Land at night. It's been one of my goals to ride LwtL at night, but it was never open long enough last year.

Some more FW photos in different lighting. I am going to miss this feel. It had some flaws, but I loved this version.

I also heard BoG is going to be table service only when it opens back up. I hope this changes whenever things return to normal. Quick service lunch at BoG is one of my favorite meals. We do it every trip.
It's been confirmed, and if you go to the Disney page and look it up, breakfast is gone and the lunch menu is changed and EXPENSIVE!! I think it said $62 per person, fixed menu with a couple different choices in each category. If it stays that way, we won't be going back.
