Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I have to say I had awesome nurses at the infusion center yesterday, and they never stopped all day. As I've probably mentioned, I was there from 7:45 AM til 4:30 PM so I got to observe quite a bit. My bloodwork didn't take long nor did my dr. appointment, but the wait for the blood test results was about an hour and a half, so my chemo couldn't start til the results of that were back. Then it's 5 hours of infusions.

Anyway, the place was quite busy yesterday, but those workers never slowed down, keeping everything sanitized, even the pens the patient used to sign the paperwork were wiped after each use. Chairs were totally wiped down as well as any surface that could possibly be touched. All staff wore masks and patients were supplied with one if requested. All this while tending to a steady stream of patients.

I had been nervous about this visit, but felt so confident by the time I was done that I called DH and had him pick up some wrapped Easter candy for them all, which I left with my nurse. The whole staff was very grateful for it, but I felt they deserved so much more!

It also helps them, when they have kind, considerate patients.

Today’s numbers, based on yesterday’s reporting.
The new buzzword is “the surge”. The next two weeks are absolutely critical, and yay, my essential services son returned to work today.

Again, Ontario population is 14.57 million.

I heard Wisconsin's peak is going to happen in two weeks, it's going to happen May 22, and then it's going to happen April 25. In summary, nobody has a clue.

Our number of deaths is going to explode shortly once they amend how deaths are calculated.

Inexplicably, the deaths at long term care facilities are currently not included. Three of them are making headlines, with 3, 8, and 11 deaths respectively; with MANY, MANY other patients and staff within those homes being sick. 🙁

Canada and Ontario are still faring relatively well comparatively, but the surge is coming.

I pray for my family and friends every day, and for all of you - by name if I know it, by user name if I don’t. God knows who I mean.

I'm praying for everyone, too. Extra for @Nemo14 with the chemo. Our numbers aren't getting updated every day now, and I'm not sure why. But it's a mess. A 12 year old in Belgium died a couple of days ago...the youngest death I think so far. Her doctor told them to stay at home, then suddenly it got bad, they tried to call for an ambulance, but they are from Ghana and their French/Dutch was not good enough in their panic and the dispatcher couldn't understand what they needed. A neighbor ended up driving them to the hospital, but it was too late. That's the kind of story you hate to read about. I know that's extreme and not the norm, but it's extremely sad. I also pray for the health workers. How they keep going amidst all of it is nothing short of heroic.

Also, thanks @JenniferS , for praying for everyone.

It’s so hard to pick the right reaction emoji to posts right now.

A post starts out sad, and then ends with a happy message; or the total opposite.

Whether I give you a like, or a love, or a sad, or a mad, or a shocked, just know that it’s directed to the part of your post that affected me the most.

Golly, I hope that made sense.
