Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Not what I want to hear coming back from WDW. 🤨🤣

Our school is now closed starting Monday. 😕. No information about staff or teachers reporting.
We are going Monday and Tuesday. We got an email from our superintendent saying that teachers do not need to come, but we need to log the time we spend working and provide a detailed description of what we are doing during that time. I think it is more for documentation in order to count the activities outside of school as academic school minutes. But I am not sure how much time we are supposed to plan and prep. We also do not need to be at school. But we were also told it is a good time for us to continue our standards work we have been doing. And as far as prepping things for students, we were told to have two weeks worth of stuff (very vague) to send home yesterday at the end of the day, so that's what I did. Also in the email, they provided a detailed description of virtual learning for the middle and high school. Nothing for elementary. I can't teach a kid to read remotely. They can't do most things on their own. So pretty much I still have no clarity or any idea what's going on or what's expected of me and my students.

Sorry this post is all over the place. I was just typing as the thoughts came to mind.

same. Our schools are offering a drive in paper version pickup for those kids. And there is a local internet provider offering free in home internet for kids in similar situations.
I'm really lost and just want some answers as to what this looks like. I know nobody really knows, but we've received no guidance from our principal. At my grade level, online learning doesn't work for most students. They can't fluently read. They do not have access to the stories we read in class, or the manipulatives we use in math.

This makes me really, really happy. I hope he, and all of his fellow price-gouging bandit friends get stuck holding the merch. Or better yet, the stock is confiscated for medical use!

Seriously? His position is that he's doing a public service? No....if you were doing a public service, you'd buy it all and donate it to the medical facilities that need it, not put it on Amazon or Ebay. You were looking for an easy way to get rich off of the vulnerable. What a jerk. I hope they prosecute him!

Agree wholeheartedly! It’s one thing to gouge for a DVC popcorn bucket, but we’re talking public health and safety.

There are a lot of very high risk people who are struggling right now - driving from store to store trying to buy the stuff they need to survive - and putting themselves are a greater risk in doing so because of those who felt a need to run out and buy way more then they need...

Exactly. If he is doing a public service, why is all sitting in a storage unit? He bought it so no one else could get it for the regular price, so he could exploit vulnerable people. He needs to be paid for his service with some nice jail time. He can look at it as a well deserved "Vacation"... behind bars.

And the government has decided to close all schools, restaurants, hotels. This is in addition to all events with more than 100 people that they decided to scrap already on Thursday. Police actually closed down a wedding this weekend because the newlyweds forgot to include the band and the catering staff in their number.
I've also gotten messages that we won't be having choir rehearsals for the rest of March....not a HUGE deal since we are still looking for a new director, and the driving school is closing down for now, so I have no driving lessons. Definitely not sad about that as I hate it anyway, but it will take longer for me to get my license.

I'm thinking the whole hoarding thing is going to get worse before it gets better. What is amusing is the Dutch word for hoarding is hamstering, and they had someone doing sign language for the press conference and my daughter thought the sign for hamstering was hilarious.

Friday afternoon our governor annonced that schools would be closed this coming week but she asked day care centers to stay open. So parents had the weekend to scramble to make child care arrangements. Today she asked all child care centers to shut down, so now even more parents are up the creek with very little notice. So glad DH and I are past all that now!

My job site just moved and I can only work evenings right now because I have no transportation during the day until I get my drivers license. I'm really glad right now because otherwise I'd worry. My daughter can stay home no problem, but my son can't, and I couldn't expect my daughter to take care of him, though I have no doubt she could handle the responsibility. It just wouldn't be fair to her. I'm lucky that I don't have that problem now.

The CDC just recommended that there be no gathering over 50 people for the next 8 weeks. I'm wondering if that means schools will close...

The article I read specifically mentioned parades, festivals and weddings and said it did not apply to schools and businesses.
