Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

The CDC just recommended that there be no gathering over 50 people for the next 8 weeks. I'm wondering if that means schools will close...

Governor Baker (MA) had a press conference last night,.

Group gatherings are limited to 25 people or less (not 50 per the CDC's recommendation).

All schools are shut down through April 6th (for now).

Restaurants and bars are closed to patrons, except for take-out orders only, through April 17th (for now).

Our restaurants and bars are closed, too, except take out/delivery, and for some reason McDonalds is allowed to stay open. Schools are closed until April 6th. No gatherings of more than 100. All the museums, zoos, movie theaters, etc seem to be closed. Everything is just shut down, except work. I don't know how stores (other than grocery stores) will stay open! Everyone is just staying home except to get groceries, or for those who can't work from home, like me. I'm tempted to ride my bike into the centrum just to see if the stores are as dead as I think they must be, or if they are full because people have nowhere else to go.

We are meeting as a staff today via Google Hangouts. So we'll all be in the school, but meeting from different rooms.

I live super close to the school I work at, I can see one of the parking lots from my house. I looked out the window today and saw a bunch of cars parked in the lot and I had a moment of panic that I had dreamed up the school closure and I was now late for work! I reread the email from the big boss and it turns out the custodial stuff is meeting today so that is what was going on. I guess I didn't read the email as fully as I should have. 😃 Oh well it gave my heart a little jump start today when I thought I was late for work!

HARRISBURG, Pa. - Gov. Tom Wolf ordered all non-essential stores, restaurants, bars, and programs for seniors in Pennsylvania to close for two weeks over coronavirus concerns.

The closure takes effect at midnight.

Essential services, like grocery stores, pharmacies and gas stations, will remain open. Trash collection will continue and and medical facilities will remain open, Wolf said.

Restaurants will be takeout only.

Wolf said to make contact with as few people as possible. The fewer contacts you make, the less likely you will spread the virus to others, Wolf said.

The Pennsylvania Department of Health announced 13 new positive cases of coronavirus as of midday Monday.

Of those, one is in Bucks County, six are in Montgomery County and two are in Monroe County.

There were also two more in Philadelphia and in Allegheny County.

Monday's numbers brings the statewide total to 76:

Allegheny (5)

Bucks (5)

Chester (2)

Cumberland (5)

Delaware (7)

Lehigh (1)

Luzerne (1)

Monroe (8)

Montgomery (30)

Northampton (1)

Philadelphia (8)

Pike (1)

Washington (1)

With no sports on the telly, Mike is watching lots of cooking shows. (Could be watching way worse things, I guess.)

My kitchen was an absolute disaster, but supper was divine. French onion grilled cheese sandwiches. No bread to be had, so he used inside out cheese buns.

I wanted mine with marble cheese.

Everyone else had Swiss.

Just heard from DS. His wife works for Bath & Body Works and was just told at 8 pm that they are closing effective tomorrow morning. She'll get paid for at least the next 2 weeks, which is a relief. He's a Stay-at-Home Dad, so her salary is their only income right now.
