getting a head start on some nifty Easter craft? So with the Coronavirus scare, why are people hoarding toilet paper? Apparently people are flocking to the stores for toilet paper and hand sanitize and most shelves are empty....
I woke up to this. Mike had to shovel.Sunday's high is 60.
But it is also supposed to be super windy, so it won't feel like 60. But like I've been saying. I'll take it!
We did have snow on Tuesday morning. Enough to make roads pretty bad on my commute. But it all melted by the time I got out of school.
I think it’s the the right call. It’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better and there are something like 4,000 people on self-quarantine in the city right now. We were going to go on a cruise this summer for my daughter’s 16th birthday. She follows the news. She said she does NOT want to risk being quarantined on a boat that isn’t allowed to dock.Auntie was gifted a Princess cruise for her 75th birthday in September. She and her daughter were supposed to fly to NYC on March 15th, sailing on the 16th.
Out of an abundance of caution, my cousin has decided that they’re not going. Unless Princess actually cancels the cruise, they are going to be out about $5000 altogether.
More than that though, Auntie knows that this would have probably been her last cruise. She has basically been in self-isolation since the beginning of the year to ensure she doesn’t get the flu again this season.
No church. No gym. No trips to the mall. And now, no cruise. ‘Twas all for naught.
You know better than anyone that the flu she caught before Christmas nearly killed her.I think it’s the the right call. Because if they catch it, they have to be in quarentine and won't be able to get to the store to buy basic necessities, I guess? So with the Coronavirus scare, why are people hoarding toilet paper? Because if the outbreak shuts down the cities the stores won’t be open to sell it.Because if they catch it, they have to be in quarentine and won't be able to get to the store to buy basic necessities, I guess?
I had that same discussion just yesterday with a friend. It is the same thing that applies down here in the south, if they are forecasting a half inch of snow the bread and milk shelves are emptied in anticipation of being house bound for decades. That reason is because a lot of people are either stupid or by coincidence they all ran out of toilet paper at the same time. I am really leaning toward the first one and blaming our "leaders" for letting our educational system fail so badly. Let's face it we have a whole lot of the walking brain dead wandering about. At least the hand sanitizer can be rationalized to some extent. Another possibility we were able to feel might be possible is that people think that the coronavirus causes diarrhea. So with the Coronavirus scare, why are people hoarding toilet paper? Apparently people are flocking to the stores for toilet paper and hand sanitize and most shelves are empty....
I had one of those emergency Swine Flu shots back in the 70's so I'm good.I'm still concerned about Ebola and the Swine Flu.
