Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
My brother will be joining us for 5 days at WDW this September. We got together last night for pizza and game board night, and we were discussing some tentative plans.

He’s iffy on spending $ for access to SW:GE (but is okay with MNSSHP and dessert parties), and has never waited more than 90 minutes for a ride.

Our DHS day(s) should be interesting.

Ski ate Pogos and soup an hour before dinner, and Spenser isn’t feeling well and went to bed.

Can you say leftovers? Lots and lots of leftovers.

Mike has been working to duplicate my dad’s famous chicken wing recipe. My dad always did his in the oven. Mike does his on the bbq. Pretty much taste the same, but way less clean up. 👍

Potatoes are from Costco. I cheated.

You’re in a cabin/locked room/island/whatever for five years ... food is provided, but no cable, phone, internet, or books.

You have a tv and the full DVD series of any tv show you want.
I'd choose one episode of McGyver.

That way, I'd learn how to pick the lock of the room I'm in, and escape using a string and one of the utensils for the food I'm provided.

In my area there has been a driving rain this morning. That's ok. This Spring the rain has come now and again which means I haven't had to take my car and pay for a car wash during the last 2 months. The Lord washes my car for free ;)

Spenser and I had this conversation yesterday.

Me - The Office
Spenser - That 70’s Show
Mike - Seinfeld

I told Mike I figured he’d pick The Sopranos, so now he’s changed his mind to that. (Am I a good salesperson, or what.)

Anybody else? Pretty sure @NYwdwfan is picking The Big Bang Theory.

ETA - Ski weighed in with The Twilight Zone - because there are more than 150 episodes.
I would have a hard time choosing between Gilmore Girls and Friends, but I think I'd go with Gilmore Girls because those are 1 hour episodes, where Friends is only 30 mins. Big Bang Theory is also an excellent choice.

We ate in an Indonesian eatery in Philadelphia. In the Indonesian language they call that dish "satay ayam"(satay chicken)
Yep, over here, everything in a restaurant is written in the language of origin and everyone just knows what all of it is. Nasi is fried rice, foo yung hai is Egg Foo Yung, babi pangang is sweet and sour pork.
But I wasn't sure if everyone would know what satay was (we spell it differently here). We make our own peanut sauce.....peanut butter, soy sauce, garlic powder, chili paste, water...some people also add coconut milk. There are lots of different ways to make it, actually. It's a great dipping sauce for french fries or bread, too. I don't like ketchup, butter, mayo, mustard, etc, so if I'm going to dip my fries in anything, it will be satay sauce.

That's awesome. Thanks for sharing all that with me :)

We have a lot of Thai and Malaysian/Indonesian places here. We prefer Thai and strangely enough the only Indonesian restaurant I remember going to was in Amsterdam.
We have a LOT of Indonesian places here....usually a combination of Chinese and Indonesian....not much Thai. But, when I first got here, it was required that I go to school for at least a year to learn Dutch, and at the end of that year, there was a test comprised of Speaking, Writing, Listening, Reading, and a traditions/norms test. You had to pass the language components with at least a level 2 (it goes up to 4, though the test only measures to 3.2 for some reason) and the traditions/norms test with an 80% or higher. If you pass everything, you are done, if not, you do another 6 months. Of course, these classes are with a bunch of other foreigners all from different places, so I made friends from a wide range of countries.
One friend is from Malaysia, one from Sri Lanka, 2 from Mexico, 1 from Iran, and 1 from either Indonesia or Thailand....I don't remember anymore and that friend and I have lost touch since I moved out of Arnhem.
Anyway, one of the things we do is get together and teach each other how to make traditional dishes from our countries. I'm pretty sure the last one I mentioned is Thai....she's a chef, and she taught us how to make Lumpias (spring rolls). They are SOOOO good and a huge hit at parties. She also taught us to make sweet chili sauce to dip them in, but you can buy that at the store, and I don't like sauces mostly, so I never bother to make it.

I absolutely love eating authentic food from other regions cooked by friends.
