Although it may be the case it is more likely cold air being conducted through the metal screws and moisture from inside the house is freezing on the screws and other exposed areas of the cover. However, it could also indicate that there is no moisture barrier in the wall and that some of the moisture might be wicking out as well as in. Still a bad situation.

Guys... I was posting in one of the update threads, and it just sunk in that I've been on this site for over 6 years! I know most of you have been here longer, but that's quite a chunk of time! And honestly, if this site was just Disney I wouldn't still be a regular here. The only reason I'm sticking around is because I've made friends.

EDIT - There appears to be something wonky with inline spoilers within inline spoilers. Otherwise I had some sarcastic comments made about the post above. But now that I had to delete them, it turned into just a dumb, sappy post. Gross.

When my mom chaperoned a High School music trip they masking taped over the top corner of the kids’ doors from the outside. If the tape was ripped they had some ‘splaining to do!!

My speech and debate coach did that and also put pennies in the door crack as she locked us in. If you opened the door, the pennies fell, and she knew someone had been out of the room. She memorized how she put the pennies in (she told me that part later, when I was not in school anymore) so that no one else could put the pennies back in...like, if a kid snuck out to meet someone, that person couldn't come back and put the pennies back in the door.
