We are supposed to be in the 40s this weekend and into Monday.

And honestly, the snow days are actually stressing me out. We are so behind!

That's like me. I keep the bedroom window open just a crack for air even on the coldest winter nights. I'm always concerned about carbon monoxide poisoning, so while sleeping, the window is open.

Same reason.

Back from an absolutley gorgeous day at Marco Island. Checked out our favorite nest there and at first didn't see any thing, but soon Mom popped her head up to look around.


Just as we were leaving, dad flew overhead, circled, then flew off to the water, We were hoping to see him return with a fish, but we waited quite a while and never saw him again.

We did see one (and sadly, only one) burrowing owl. They're really neat to see a group together, but no luck today - just this guy.

We grabbed a couple of Subway sandwiches and ate our lunch at a little park at one of the local marinas. This was our view:

so, it was a really nice day, and a great way to end our stay here. Tomorrow we head up to the condo in Kissimmee, which we're really looking forward to for a lot of reasons. Stay safe everyone, and stay warm!

Yeah. It was the home that Walt bought for his parents so they could move close. The furnace was malfunctioning. He sent Disney studios repair men to fix it. But apparently it didn’t work. And the carbon monoxide killed his mom. Pretty much most tragic thing of his life.

I like these pictures. Never focused too much before on a nest, but wow, that's quite a piece of construction done with just twigs, huh?!

The close-ups of the owl came out well, too.

twigs, sticks, branches, grass, you name it... It's really awesome to watch them build and rebuild a nest. They'll bring in a stick, then they take turns placing it here and there, til they get it to a spot that they both agree on.
