Ski just got home. I asked him what happened to my fry pan. Apologies to Spenser ... it was Ski who wrecked the pan; frying the Christmas steaks that nobody ate on Christmas.

That’s what it looks like after 45 minutes of Tammy’s best efforts to clean it.

Good to know - it’s going into the trash for sure now. (Like there was ever any doubt.)

People must love OG. Because we’d not eaten a single bite all day, we stopped for “blupper” at just a few minutes past 4:00, and the restaurant was 3/4 full. When we left an hour later, every table was occupied, the waiting area was 40+ people deep, and another dozen mingled outside.

Yeah, most family run Italian joints are better than OG, but it doesn’t mean we don’t enjoy it. As someone, I forget who, used to say ... slurp.

I love OG, even if others won't go there over a legit Italian place. Their alfredo sauce is amazing. And their breadsticks.

It rained ALL day today. Two indoor recesses got to me. The kids just needed to run. Unfortunately we had zero PE classes today, too.

Yay, Mommy’s home just in time to look after the Ski. Nearly lost his finger in a work-related accident.

He is on his way home from an out of town hospital. Mike is going to have to go pick him up from the shop when he gets back.

He has a prescription for antibiotics, which I will have to nag him to take; pain-killers, which he might (or might not) take; and a referral to a hand specialist, if he doesn’t regain feeling and mobility within 3 days.

Ugh, this is going to be so much fun. He is the worst patient in the universe!

Sorry to hear about his accident. I hope his hand heals fast and with full mobility and feeling.

Certainly worthy of a different thread, but, there is no bigger rip off on the planet then those expiration dates. Two things... things that go bad usually emit an odor that makes it no mistake as to age and if it isn't then just make sure that everything reaches as least 160 degrees and all bacteria is killed dead. Expiration dates on sealed container beer and soda is the most blatant scam companies ever had the ability to pull off.

I'm glad that food products show a best by date, or a use by date. I always check when I buy. Also, I can keep an eye on things in the refrigerator, and use them within a reasonable time. That may not be the exact expiration or best buy date, but it would be around the date. And yes, smell and visual inspection is very important as well.

I like that dates keep food from sitting on store shelves forever, as it forces the stores to rotate out the older products.

Thank you. He’s hurting big time right now. Took some pain meds and went to lie down. He’s got to go to work tomorrow to fill out WSIB forms. He can’t even dress himself, let alone drive.

My cousin called me - heard through the grapevine that he’d lost his entire finger, and that it couldn’t be re-attached. Ski is confused as he hasn’t posted a single thing on any platform, and I’ve only told you guys.

Those are quality pans, but I don't use cast iron. The reason is they're too heavy! (I use lighter, stainless steel cooking pans, and never aluminum.)

It may be the Dollywood posts lately, but I am in love with the song 9 to 5 suddenly. I mean I've definitely heard it before, but have never loved it. I all of a sudden wanted to hear it on the way home from work, so I put it on my phone through the car speakers and blared it. It's sooo good to play super loud while driving on the highway.

Weather as of this morning: Should be in the 30s-40s for the foreseeable future with absolutely no precipitation!

Weather as of tonight: Yeah, tomorrow morning's commute will almost certainly consist of a rain/snow mix, then the next couple of days with be a high of 20. Oh, and it will probably be pretty windy, too.
