Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

How about swimming. You can still swim all your life and it can be fun, and it is easy on joints. Our local pool has a seniors swim group and a water aerobics for seniors as well. And, swimming was the only sport I could do when I was pregnant and had mobility issues.
That does come pretty close, but, I started out playing 18 holes any given day. I can still play 18 holes. However, I once might have been able to make a few laps of an olympic size pool. I'd be lucky if I could make it 15 feet now before the heart attack hit. Swimming is defined by a lot of different standards, golf has only one and that is playing to PAR.

For obvious reasons, no one has ever bought me a mixer. Most especially not my mother, who knew me best. 😂
I asked for one of those mixing wands and also a small food processor for Christmas. I didn't get it, so, I noticed at Walmart they had one with attachments. It had the regular wand, A whisk attachment, a small processor and a potato masher. All for under $30.00. I love it, primarily because, after complaining all these years about not being able to get a Milk Shake that isn't really a large cup of Ice Cream that isn't drinkable without rupturing every single blood vessel in your mouth, I can now make my own and indeed I have. Almost no clean up necessary and it makes perfect Milk Shakes. Even if it didn't do anything else it would be perfect. The Whisk attachment mixes up instant puddings in seconds. I am still to experiment with the two other attachments.

He had missed 10 kicks this year, 2nd most in the league. He made his first attempt, but the Eagles called a TO to ice him. Then his kick hit the left upright AND the crossbar before bouncing out. He had hit the upright 5 times prior to this one this season. Silly Bears.
Yet the Silly Bears were the #1 seed and the Eagles were in Chicago.....an underdog #6 seed. It wasn't supposed to come down to the wire. The home team #1 seed was supposed to win. The Eagles had playoff experience and that may have been the deciding factor?

We have the wand kind. when my mom was staying with us we had to use it every night on her food, since her teeth didn't fit her right anymore. It worked well and she appreciated being able to have real food.

I don't care how they lost, I just have to root against the Bears. But the Bears were the #3 seed. The Saints are the #1 seed, and the Rams are #2.

Oh yeah, good job pointing that out(sincerely...not sarcastic).....but, the Bears were the highest seeded team that played this weekend. I forgot about the Saints because they had a bye.
Well, out of the four NFC teams that played this weekend, the Bears were seeded the highest.
My point is still the same actually.

The Eagles did a nice job on defense by only allowing 16 points. They didn't let their early turnovers lead to a big Chicago lead. They made big plays in key moments, and they weren't afraid of the Bears defense. Their offensive line did a heck of a job, only allowing one sack. Nick Foles does an amazing job under pressure in clutch moments. Ultimately they played a very evenly matched game, but it came down to the kicker, and the Bears kicker is not very good.

Every year we get together with a few retired friends after the craziness of Christmas for our own little post-Christmas party. We exchange small homemade goodies, and basically just talk about the grandkids :joyfull:. Anyway, this year we're having it Wednesday night (mind you, we're leaving Thursday morning....) so I've been getting stuff ready for it today. I made another batch of spiced pecans, which came out fine, but the second batch burned a bit... No problem - I made plenty.

I made a batch of fudge, only to realize that I hadn't put any nuts in it, but that should be OK I guess. Makes it easier to cut up anyway.

Then I planned to make cherry breads, which are kind of a tradition in our little family. They're not hard to do, just a little time-consuming, but heck, I had all afternoon to do them. So I did all my chopping and prepping, put most of the ingredients in the mixer bowl, fired up the mixer and within a few seconds, it screamed and succumbed to a painful and rather noisy death. I do have a little hand mixer that I use more often than the big one, but this batter, dough, whatever is way too thick for that to work. So I hand-mixed and mixed and mixed again with a wooden spoon til it looked close to what it should be. I baked them and they do smell good - hope they taste OK.

So now I have to think about replacing my mixer. I've had that one for 30+ years or so, so it owes me nothing, but a warning would have been nice. Probably not going to do anything about it til we get back home in the spring, but by then maybe I'll know what to look for.
Yeah, I was checking them out there. There's a KitchenAid that I have my eye on, but it can wait til we get back.
I was going to suggest Kitchen Aid. Yes, they’re expensive, but they really are the best, and they last and last. Mine is 17 years old and I use it often. My mom’s even older. And they DO go on sale!

Back in Canada.

The Waze Chick changed her mind at the last minute and sent us to Detroit instead of Sarnia. Bad call. It took us 1/2 hour to pay the $5.00 😲 toll to cross the Ambassador Bridge and then another 25 minutes to clear Customs & Immigration.

Bad Waze Chick. Bad!

They can’t build this sucker soon enough, in my never to be humble opinion ....
