Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Well, gee... it is a total mystery why you lose interest and don't do well. Clubs that are too small will tend to take the joy out of the game. It's a hard game regardless of how the pro's make it look. I have been playing golf for almost 40 years and I improved for awhile but as I've gotten older I am back to awful again. Doesn't matter, I enjoy being out in the sunshine, having a good time with friends and not really caring what my final score is. It really doesn't matter. It's just fun. Perhaps renting a set of better fitting clubs might be worth trying. If you do better and it sparks your interest then you can consider whether or not to invest in new or used clubs. I go to the thrift shops and buy clubs for $4.00 each. I've seen basically new sets of clubs, bag and all that have gone for $24.00 I know you are young, but, you seem pretty perceptive, so I'll say this. If you can find another sport that you can still be doing in your 70's and still have it be fun, let me know. It is a lifetime thing, no other sport can do that. Just played 18 holes this morning with my son in law and my grandson. I ache a little bit, but totally worth it.
How about swimming. You can still swim all your life and it can be fun, and it is easy on joints. Our local pool has a seniors swim group and a water aerobics for seniors as well. And, swimming was the only sport I could do when I was pregnant and had mobility issues.

I like to think I have Mike fully trained, but honestly, I think the tail wags this dog.

Mike: What do you want to eat, Baby? Whatever you want.
Me: I dunno.

Mike: Do you want a burger?
(He knows that except for 5 Guys, I don’t eat burgers.)

Mike: We should probably do a sit down. Do you want spaghetti?
(Well NOW I do!)

Exiting 1-75 in Dayton shortly. I’ll leave it to you to put two and two together.

Glad you're having a fun return trip home as well. Hope you continue to have good driving weather for safe travels.

Guess I was the only one who liked the Kentucky sign with the horse. Kentucky looks like a nice state (although I've never been there). Whatever the joke was about the sign, it sailed right past me.

Was there ever any doubt?

They were hot. They were garlicky. They were just the right amount of salty. They were marvellous. I might have eaten 3 1/2 of them! (No worries, Robin brought 8 in total.)

Mike’s seafood pasta was absolutely steaming!
My portobello ravioli ... not so much. Not cold enough to send back. 7/10 instead of 10/10 if it had been hotter. Actually 8/10, because Robin remembered “no diced tomato garnish”.

I know a lot of people think Olive Garden is very pedestrian, but we like it - plus, we don’t have any of them at home, so we only eat there every 18 months or so. It’s always good.

Every year we get together with a few retired friends after the craziness of Christmas for our own little post-Christmas party. We exchange small homemade goodies, and basically just talk about the grandkids :joyfull:. Anyway, this year we're having it Wednesday night (mind you, we're leaving Thursday morning....) so I've been getting stuff ready for it today. I made another batch of spiced pecans, which came out fine, but the second batch burned a bit... No problem - I made plenty.

I made a batch of fudge, only to realize that I hadn't put any nuts in it, but that should be OK I guess. Makes it easier to cut up anyway.

Then I planned to make cherry breads, which are kind of a tradition in our little family. They're not hard to do, just a little time-consuming, but heck, I had all afternoon to do them. So I did all my chopping and prepping, put most of the ingredients in the mixer bowl, fired up the mixer and within a few seconds, it screamed and succumbed to a painful and rather noisy death. I do have a little hand mixer that I use more often than the big one, but this batter, dough, whatever is way too thick for that to work. So I hand-mixed and mixed and mixed again with a wooden spoon til it looked close to what it should be. I baked them and they do smell good - hope they taste OK.

So now I have to think about replacing my mixer. I've had that one for 30+ years or so, so it owes me nothing, but a warning would have been nice. Probably not going to do anything about it til we get back home in the spring, but by then maybe I'll know what to look for.

Sunbeam and KitchenAid mixers go on sale a few times a year. Just keep your eyes open for sales, while you're traveling or while at home. (Check Amazon, too.) :)
