Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Are there pics? My computer keeps half-loading the page and crashing so I can't tell.

Do I even want to know what that's for?!

No morning pictures - I didn't want to scare the bears...

and apparently bear spray is something you're supposed to spray at a bear if he attacks you? I figure the last thing I would think of doing when encountering a bear on a hike would be to whip out my can of bear spray.

So, we got quite a late start this morning, so we went into town for lunch first and did a little shopping while we were there. It was mid afternoon before we got to the park, but we still did a lot of sight seeing. Here's a few photos from our adventures:

I've been a little under the weather today - might be a touch of altitude adjustment or something, but in any event, I'm off to bed,

Yup, I'll bet it's the altitude. (I experienced that out in Colorado, years ago.) Hope you feel a bit better today--just pace yourself a little more than you normally would. May take a few days to get back up to full energy.

Loving the photos of all the animals! :) Wave to them as you go by, and tell them I said, "hi"

Might be that I ate too much for lunch yesterday too. I had the most delicious chicken quesadilla I've ever had yesterday. No pics (just not into that), but it was stuffed with probably a pound of thick slices of chicken, plus roasted veggies and cheese. I couldn't finish it (DH did though and agreed it was delicious, but we very easily could have just split that for lunch). Between that and walking around in the sun, I guess it just got to me. Feeling better this morning though.

Speaking of walking around, I know I mentioned before that my knee still hasn't healed from my little bout with gravity back in July. I was very apprehensive about how I was going to handle the trails here, since climbing uphill is still pretty painful. DH bought a cheap pair of hiking poles for me back in Salt Lake City, despite my objections because I didn't want to look like an old lady using them. Anyway, I do use them and lots of people here do - both young and old - and they have helped considerably. I still know my limits, but these have really helped me to get to places I didn't think I'd be able to access.

Crowds here have been greater than we expected - several Asian tour groups, as well as many retired folks like ourselves, but also a lot of families and young people. Apparently they didn't get the memo I sent out telling them all to stay home. I swear the older I get, the less I enjoy crowds.

While it was still great, I was shocked with crowds last month...especially the number of Asian tour groups. I'd read that Yellowstone's #s have spiked 20-30% over the last couple of years, so I guess even the slower times are no longer really slow. Hopefully, parking hasn't been too bad for you guys.

Silly question...the picture of the falls right before the Petrified Tree...is that Virginia Cascade? Or some other falls?

Hope you're feeling better. I know the Old Faithful area and all of the sulfur aggravated the altitude sickness issues with my DH, but it should pass.
