Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

Only 5 days? That seems so short!! What are you planning for your anniversary? A nice dinner? Or is that the date with Billy? I'd love to get back to NYC sometime. When I went, we only had 4 days, and we had rehearsals and our concert at Carnegie Hall in there, so we didn't have a ton of time to see stuff. We did go up to the top of the Empire state building, and we saw Phantom of the Opera at the magestic theater. But I'd want to go back and look at all the historic things. Supposedly there's a building where they preserved one part of a wall of the old sugar house from the 1700s where my g-g-g-g grandfather was held prisoner by the British during the revolutionary war. I'd love to see it. But I'm guessing US history might not have the same intrigue for you? But I'm sure you'll have a great time, whatever you decide to do.
Five days is just about right.

We actually went twice last year (August and December), so this trip is for filling in the gaps, checking “Billy Joel at MSG” off Mike’s bucket list, and meeting up with our friend.

I love history. Anybody’s history. I’d like to go to the Tenement Museum this trip.

Are you getting paid? If not, I'd sue. I'm sure there are some good lawyers out there...
I'm guessing no. When my husband and I got married, we had a professional photographer take pictures before and after the ceremony (our pastor wouldn't let any pictures be taken during the ceremony, because it was "distracting" from the focus on God). We went in to look at the pictures, ordered the ones we wanted, and then when we came back in to pick them up, we noticed my picture was on his brochure. He didn't ask for permission, we got no discount or anything...they were his pictures that he took, and he owned the rights to them, so he didn't need our permission, apparently. I think he still should have asked, and it would have been a nice gesture to give us a copy of that picture or something. But I think if it's not required by law, a lot of companies aren't going to do that. I'm guessing in the case of a child, they probably have to ask permission, but I doubt they have to pay you.

I love history, too. And there's a LOT of it in NYC! I will have to look up the Tenement museum. There's so much I'd like to see there.

Woo hoo - I’ve booked the “Under One Roof” tour for Monday.

I had no idea how difficult it would be to get day-of tickets. Good thing our conversation sparked my further investigations.

I’ve just done a major cull of my clothes closet.
Two sizes too big - buh-bye.
Two sizes too small - buh-bye.
Out of style - buh-bye.
Not MY style - buh-bye.
Too brown - buh-bye. (Why do I even own anything brown, let alone many things brown?)
Haven’t worn in 5+ years - buh-bye.

Lord, forgive me, but please use these very fine clothes to bless someone else.

@JenniferS , your prime minister visited my state yesterday. :inlove: Acting as a business ambassador (so to speak) for Canada, he presented at MIT. Apparently, Canada has been in the forefront of AI and spending boodles of money to forward this initiative. Found that fascinating.

(It's hard for me to get my quaint image of Canada out of my mind, with visits my parents and I made up there when I was a teenager. Beautiful countryside, animals, delicious French cooking, policemen in those sharp red uniform jackets on horseback, etc.) So, to me, anyway, Canada--being one of the cutting edge countries for AI-- was a surprise. (I know it shouldn't be, but just can't shake that older image out of my head!!) :)

If you're interested, an article about this visit (Boston Globe):

I finally got DH to purge his closet the other day. He's donating 65 ties and 14 dress shirts...:hilarious:
