Also, I don't watch The Voice, but I love the judges on that show. Alicia Keys and Kelly Clarkson are amazing.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
As much as people hated Simon, he was the glue that held the show together, because he's really the only one who truly gets it. Paula was annoying.
All the chicks have been annoying.

Paula was fun because she seemed to be perpetually doing her best Dean Martin impression.

Well, he has a positive outlook on life, whoever he is. (I don't keep up with singers, so am not familiar with him.) Anyway, I hope he's right--I hope most peeps are good peeps!! ;):)
Apparently that song has been around since last year, but I first heard it the other day while driving to Lowe's.

Being that this was Mother's Day week, which is hard enough to get through emotionally, then I hear the line in the song: "Most mothers should qualify for sainthood.." at that point the, uh, pollen ... started getting to my eyes while driving. :cautious: Darn all that pollen inside of my car.

Heck, I didn't even buy them lunch at a food court in the mall. Now I understand why there has been no discussion about any return visit. And here I spent 29 years married to a Cananadian, you would have thought that I would have learned something.
We’d planned on coming back. You know that.
And then, dang it all, I got a job.

Good chance we’re driving to WDW in September, and Mike wants to drive home through NC. I’ll keep you posted. Maybe you’ll actually let us spring for lunch this time. 👍

While you're at it, stop here. I won't put up a fuss if you want to pay. It includes an appetizer and dessert, right?

The only thing a garnered from all that is that you have a job and I don't. Then the question remains... who's (or possible whom's) is buying lunch.
I don't require dessert unless it's what I chose as a main meal!

Thank you, I’m fine.

Couple of long days, and then I made yesterday even longer by detouring to Krispy Kreme on my way home. Nearly hit a cyclist crossing against the light, with no lights on his bike. Then I got a little flustered and missed my turn and had to do a five minute detour through an unfamiliar industrial area. The donuts weren’t even for me, and then all I got were sour attitudes from the boys.

Rather than return their snotty attitude, I made tea, and went up to read.

I made a pretty meme though.

Ugh....hate days like that. Who were the donuts for? That's something I can't wait for in the US....Donuts. Did you not get any for yourself while you were there, or do you not like donuts?

I’ve been trying to plan my itinerary for days, but the weather forecast keeps changing every five minutes.

There are a few must do’s this trip - walk the Brooklyn Bridge, check out the Highline, ride the Staten Island Ferry, try the banana pudding at Magnolia Bakery ....

We have a date with Billy Joel, a day with @NYwdwfan, a 25th anniversary to celebrate, and only five days to do it all.

I’m really looking forward to it.
Only 5 days? That seems so short!! What are you planning for your anniversary? A nice dinner? Or is that the date with Billy? I'd love to get back to NYC sometime. When I went, we only had 4 days, and we had rehearsals and our concert at Carnegie Hall in there, so we didn't have a ton of time to see stuff. We did go up to the top of the Empire state building, and we saw Phantom of the Opera at the magestic theater. But I'd want to go back and look at all the historic things. Supposedly there's a building where they preserved one part of a wall of the old sugar house from the 1700s where my g-g-g-g grandfather was held prisoner by the British during the revolutionary war. I'd love to see it. But I'm guessing US history might not have the same intrigue for you? But I'm sure you'll have a great time, whatever you decide to do.

The donuts were for Mike and the boys.

I’m eschewing carbs right now, so none for me.
