You want to hear about less prestigious? I get a nice, clean, comfortable hotel 2 miles from Disney for less then $75.00 a night. Talk about slum sleeping.

It's sinister what we get away with charging people for a hotel room. One of my old professors used to say that the hospitality industry isn't about being hospitable...it's about finding out how much you can bend someone to spend, then push them a couple hundred $ further. If your're in the industry because you like people & want to help them with their travel needs, you won't last a day. You must be one of the friendliest demons on the planet to successfully pull of being a hotelier, or else you're in the wrong line of work.

Those of us who were the "rank and file" employees there, used to joke that we couldn't afford to stay (rack rates) at our own company's hotels. Luckily, we got a substantial employee discount, and that was the only way most of us could go on vacation, to one of the resorts.

Not sure. Never priced a hospital without insurance. Cliffside Malibu is a drug treatment facility but the commercial makes it look like paradise.

I get the channel BUZZR now. It's fantastic! It plays nothing but old game shows. I watch Match Game a lot. It's by far my favorite game show of all time. I love, love, love that show. My favorite panelist is Patti Deutsch. Her oddball answers crack me up.
