Our favorite eagle nest is around the other side of the lake, so we took a ride over.

The mom eagle was sitting on a branch next to the nest.

She kept turning her head away so I couldn't get a good picture of her

Then I noticed the little eaglet in the nest...

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.

Hubby seemed to think our trip was upcoming sooner than it actually is. He's dropping hints about going down earlier. Looking at your pics, I'm starting to entertain his proposal. :joyfull:

Your college didn't have those?
Unfortunately no. :(
I really think my middle schoolers would benefit with a nap, I know I would!
I've had one girl tell me I needed a nap (granted, it was on a day where I felt awful), and I told her she was right.
We packed a couple of sandwiches and headed off to a park at Lake Toho for lunch today. It was soooo pretty. Here's the view from our bench (yes, they have lots of benches, and tables, and Adirondack chairs to relax there).

We took a walk out to the lighthouse - so pretty!

I misread that as Lake Tahoe and was trying to figure out how you can travel so fast.

So glad I'm not currently in the market for getting a car. Our (used) car was purchased via a bank loan approx. 4 years ago; paid off loan in 2 years. Hence, we own the car and have been loan-free for 2 years. (Car had low mileage when we bought it, so we lucked out.)

Been reading a thread about leasing versus buying cars, and my head is spinning. (Sometimes, I like to torment myself by reading long-winded, convoluted threads. :p )

Anyway, I think when our car eventually dies, I'll just stick with public transportation--much easier! ;) :D

I drive DH nuts because I name all the "creatures" here.
There's the 2 Moor Hens (Mary and Tyler),
A Great White Heron (Barry, or possibly Betty),
A Little Blue Heron (Erik the Blue)
and a Tri-color Heron (Trixie)
I couldn't help but notice there seems to be a lack of Winston or Churchill in the ensemble. I trust you can remedy this someday?
