Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

I'm one of those oddballs that likes the DL castle better than the MK one. Granted, nothing wrong with MK's castle. It is stunning & magnificent to say the least. But the only time I ever visited DL (summer of 1993), that castle, though tiny by comparison, just stuck with me. I saw Walt when I looked at that castle. I was just floored by the thought that, Walt stood here. Walt walked through there. He opened the world of theme parks standing in front of that thing. This is the real deal that started it all. There are some things in life from childhood you never forget. Seeing Sleeping Beauty castle for the very first time and realizing I'm in Walt's park was one of mine.
I wish the iPhone heart emoji worked here. <3

Good morning - it's a little cool this morning, but, you know, no snow. I forgot my camera this morning, but I'll share a few photos from my walk yesterday:

From there we drove over to DeLeon Springs for all-you-can-eat, make-your-own pancakes. It was a lot of fun, and the pancakes were awesome. I love how "Old Florida" that park is. Lots of people come to swim in the spring there or canoe out in the river. It's very laid back and just so pretty. I love the cool trees there.

I guess I'm an oddball too, because I also prefer Sleeping Beauty Castle. I experienced a very similar feeling during my first trip to Disneyland. The feeling I had when I first passed through the archway and stepped onto Main Street for the first time is something I'll never forget. And then turning the corner and seeing the castle for the first time. It was all a bit overwhelming. I used to stay up late and watch Disneyland/the Wonderful World of Clolor every night as a child, and I particularly loved the episodes where Walt would show off Disneyland. Finaly getting to see it in person and knowing this is where Walt walked was the most incredible experience. The element of history and the charm of the place is just amazing. During my last trip to WDW I remember just staring at Cinderella Castle and thinking, "yep, I prefer Sleeping Beauty Castle." But I do tend to prefer charm to spectacle in most things, so that shouldn't be surprising. And I love how the Matterhorn towers over the castle at Disneyland. It all just works perfectly together. I do still really love Cinderella Catle though. It's incredible in its own way. But could we return both castles to their original color schemes, please?
