Just took my dog outside and I could hear a bunch of coyotes howling and attacking some animal over a hill. It sounded like there were two groups in different spots.

The coyotes run in the field behind us every night.
Some nights, I find the sound comforting. Other nights, however, their frenzied yipping scares me because I know they've captured a prey. Usually someone's pet cat.

On the plus side, I know the neighbouring farmer's annoying new rooster isn't long for this earth.

It was very violent sounding. We have streaks where coyotes come and go. Our house backs right up to some woods and a field. I've seen coyotes, deer, beavers, raccoons, skunks, and other animals running around the streets of my neighborhood before... The beavers are because there is a small creek at the bottom of my street.

If you have money in your pocket in Quebec, they will suddenly become very fluent in English. I'm thinking that Cananda should consider building a wall. We no longer need one. Who the hell wants to live in this country anymore... I know I don't.

Just popping by to tell you we survived the night without heat. We closed off the bedrooms and slept out in the living room with the little space heater. It really wasn't bad, and the plumber should be here soon, so hopefully we'll have a working furnace again soon.

Yes we lucked out about that. It actually only went down to the low forties or high thirties last night. Tonight they're saying twenties or possibly teens.

I had to wait 3 days for a part in my last place. I threw some towels along the base of the French doors so cold air wouldn't flow through the gap as easily. And the space heater kept the room pretty comfortable on a cold day.

Plumber just left. He did replace the thermocouple and it started up fine.However the gas valve has a slight leak, so they're trying to locate a replacement for it. Hopefully that will happen today, but no guarentee that it will...

Hang in there. This will all get resolved soon. Again, I think somebody "upstairs" was watching out over you, because I believe there was a reason why your furnace had a hiccup now--while a more serious problem was hiding in the wings.

I agree - could have been a lot worse. We won't have heat now til probably Monday, but at least we're still here.


I actually looked into flying down to my sister's in Florida for the weekend,to warm up. but I the flights were pretty expensive.

Would you want to come if you knew that you were not wanted and that you stand a good chance of being negatively looked upon? I wouldn't! America was the promise of a better life not a symbol of that same life and persecution in a different place. Want to make America great again, let it be the place that people want to come to so that they have a chance of bettering their lives.
