Where in the World Isn't Bob Saget?

OK, you convinced me and now I know why so many of you guys move down here, Hillary or Donald, eh! But just to clarify, all the stuff that you still have to pay for, we do to and Social Security is almost nothing. However, the biggy is Medical and let me tell you... what you have up there allows a lot more leeway then we have down here. So enjoy it and keep digging in about how you have free medical cause that is the one thing that all the anti-socialist down here would turn a blind eye to if they could get that same thing.

Socialized medicine? Pass.

It's Survivor night. Yee-haw!
I won't be watching until after 9:30. :(

Years ago, I used to be able to catch Global TV's audio feed on the very first AM setting in my car. Not any more though.

I won't be able to watch until tomorrow. Hubby wants to watch the Cubs game tonight, and I'm kind of curious about it as well.

Bet you can't think of a single reason why though. Or you have been lucky and not have your total accomplishments sucked up by medical bills. You can always tell those that can afford catastrophic life events to happen. It is usually because they have never had a catastrophic situation arise... yet!

I can think of several reasons actually. Remember I have family in Canada who has had to deal with it.

So did I, still do if you consider X-inlaws. I don't really see much difference except you don't lose your shirt if you require something major.

I will just say it has affected two of my family members very negatively. And it wouldn't have happened if they were over here.

I don't know in what way so I cannot comment on that. If it's about the committee rumor that floats around that they determine who has the best chance of a significant life if medical treatment is done. That may be true, but, don't kid yourself, that happens here too. The difference is if they perform an extensive medical procedure on someone down here and they die, no one is there to pay up. At least in Canada it is more based on quality of life as opposed to how much can you afford to pay for that possibly limited quantity of life.

This however is a pretty heavy discussion for a light thread like Bob Saget, so perhaps we should stop discussing it unless you want to do it via Inbox.

Some people like Canada's way of going about medical care, some people don't. Can we just leave it at that? I don't want this thread to become political. Politics can be discussed in PMs if necessary, but let's keep it out of WITWIBS if we could.

I don't think it's political. But I don't really want to talk about it anyways as I wasn't looking for a debate. It's a sore subject for me as the impact on my family was dramatic.

My apologies.
