So you took candy instead?I had my lunch all ready to go last night.
Looks like Ski ate it sometime after I went to bed.
No chicken and veg in the fridge. Yes dirty plate in the sink.

Not quite. So you took candy instead?
All I remember as a kid in New York State having the Regents Exams every year. That determined if you moved onto the next grade or not. Scary times always. We took the CAT test - I think it stood for California Aptitude Test. I wonder what Iowa did to get the boot?
Best cartoon ever.
ftfyBest cartoon ever that's not from Calvin and Hobbes.
My son even had the Tshirt....
Every morning when I pack my lunch I do not include any candy. Every afternoon I curse myself for not packing candy.![]()
Well, I've got my walking papers.
Sold out or not, we are shutting down the office Monday, November 14.
I will then be unemployed until March, at the earliest.
I am gutted. Gutted, I tell you.![]()
I am considered self-employed. No EI benefits for me. Hubby has been off work since February. He is also not returning until March. You know, for someone who was just freshly slain, you don't seem all that upset.I'd be a wreck.
I hope this doesn't place too much of a financial hardship on you. At least your hubby is still employed, so that's good for the both of you. By the way, do you get unemployment in Canada? (I hope you do.)

Such is the life of a commissioned new home salesperson.
Please don't worry about me too much. Even though we're paid a tiny (think, itsy bitsy) amount per house, my partner and I have sold 166 of them in the past 6 months. I'll be fine.![]()
Yeah, that. That's comforting to hear. You two are really professional sales people. Not everyone can be successful in that line of work, but you two outdo the competition!![]()
What benefits would you receive. Medical is already paid... you don't pay taxes if you aren't making any money and you have more time off then most people so vacation time and, as far as that goes, sick time is not necessary. Retirements are not required since the government will take care of you for life. So.. I don't think I was even (think, itsy bitsy) worried about you. But, enjoy your 1% status.I am considered self-employed. No EI benefits for me. Hubby has been off work since February. He is also not returning until March.

1%? Gee, I wish. What benefits would you receive. OK, you convinced me and now I know why so many of you guys move down here, Hillary or Donald, eh! But just to clarify, all the stuff that you still have to pay for, we do to and Social Security is almost nothing. However, the biggy is Medical and let me tell you... what you have up there allows a lot more leeway then we have down here. So enjoy it and keep digging in about how you have free medical cause that is the one thing that all the anti-socialist down here would turn a blind eye to if they could get that same thing.1%? Gee, I wish.
As to other stuff, you know you're talking hogwash. Stop it before other people believe you.
CPP and OAS are not nearly enough to live on once retired. You'd better have a substantial amount socked away, even up here in the supposed land of milk and honey, or you're going to do without a lot of things ... like hydro, food, and shelter.
Medical is paid - but prescriptions, dental, physio, and eyecare are not. Because we're self-employed, we have to pay for our own coverage. To the tune of almost $5K/year. On top of that, I max out my prescription cap pretty quickly, and pay another $2K on top.
Minnie was specifically referring to Employment Insurance benefits (up to 55% of your income), and as I said, no, I don't qualify for those. Also, as self-employed individuals, our company does not make CPP contributions on our behalf. We do it.
And finally, to completely kill your skewed perception of the idyllic life in Canada, we pay almost 50% in taxes.
On the plus side, we don't have to choose between Hillary or Trump. So there.![]()
