Well, now that we know your family doesn't like beer, I guess i can tell you that I can't stand it either!

I think now is the perfect time to tell you a story, and I hope you're sitting down for this one! Years ago, my mother and I went on a brewery tour at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, up in Merrimac, NH. The grounds were gorgeous, the Clydesdales were magnificent, and the tour, itself, was very interesting. At the end of the tour, they offered everyone a (very) large glass of the beer that they were brewing that day (I think it was a "light" beer). So, my mother sampled some. I refused mine. I walked over to a vending machine and had an orange soda instead! HA!

No worries. Light beer is more like orange soda and not really beer to me anyway...!

I highly recommend these. No lighter fluid. Crumple a bunch of paper underneath it, pour in the charcoal, light the paper, and in 10 minutes, you have nicely lit charcoal.

Yep, those are pretty awesome!

Oh, and the latest thing that happened with that mole: the spot is now infected! I was told to try to keep it uncovered and let it heal a little. I got concerned when I started seeing puss coming from it and asked a friend of ours who is a doctor about it. Turns out he says it was poor advice and I need to keep it covered with a bandaid and put triple antibiotic ointment on it, and if it doesn't heal, he will write me an antibiotic prescription.

And yet another reason why I will not be returning to that dermatology place...

Pets are funny, and can be single-minded at times. Whenever you go into the kitchen, open the frig, or a cabinet, I swear a dinner chime goes off in their heads!

That was interesting about the "slow down bowl" for Daisy. I never knew anything like that existed. My dog inhales his food—I don't think he even chews it at all!

Just wanted to mention that barbecues can be low in price. For many years, all I ever used were hibachis, and I never spent more than $12-15 on them. (Maybe now with the summer winding down, there might be some good sales in your area.) I don't like the gas or propane grills they sell. I prefer charcoal in a regular Weber (basic) grill (just bought it recently). I even get the pretreated charcoal, so that I don't have to use lighter fluid. Lighter fluid scares me; I'm such a wuss!

My Pup believes everytime one open the freezer a Pup Frosty Paw is to come out.

And at Target a few weeks ago I bought a Weber Smokey Joe for $1.80 Some people still do not understand decimal points.

Oh thank goodness! I've only seen snow a few times in my life. I've always lived in the south. I have no idea what to do with long term, abundant snow. I'm scared enough at the prospect of driving in ice & snow. Yikes!

I've lived here in N. IL my whole life and I still hate the snow and driving in the snow and ice. 4X drive helps a lot. My last two vehicles had it and it does make it easier to navigate. When my kids had to drive to school in deep snow I was nervous until I got a text they were there.

Driving in it takes practice, and it's not fun.

I actually like shoveling snow. Whenever we have a snowstorm that comes in overnight, I love going out early and shoveling the front porch and steps. Usually, I'm the only one out that early shoveling (in the dark)on the street—except for the city plow drivers that go by, and wave to me! (heh, heh . . .)

I have a couple snowblowers so that helps but I like shoveling too. Except this past winter when we had lots of snow every two-three days and sub zero days. The novelty wore off quick last winter.

I was very removed from all the Favre hoopla. He reminded me in the end of his career very much of our Sammy Sosa. Classier ways of retiring. They could have left and revered but chose not to, now they both seem to crave what they blew. Choices.

There's a lot behind the scenes that nobody besides Favre and the Packers will ever know. I know the Packers organization did not handle it the best, nor did Favre. Both made mistakes. I don't think Favre was ready to retire when he did with the Packers, and I think he knew it. I don't know why he actually decided to, and nobody aside from him probably ever will. When he went to New York, I don't think he liked it there. He doesn't seem like a big city type of guy, and I don't think he got along with all the players. When he went to Minnesota, I do think he wanted to stick it to the Packers a bit, but I also think he wanted to still play. And if he wants to play and he still can, then I say let him play. I truly think he was satisfied with retiring after the Vikes got to the NFC Champsionship. But then the Vikings sent people down multiple times to his house to try and convince him to return. Numerous phone calls, visits, etc pressured him into coming back IMO. On top of that, there was a strong belief by most people that it was possible for Favre to win another Super Bowl, and that is enough to bring someone back.

As for the constant coverage about it, the majority of that wasn't on Favre's part. The media beat that horse to death, but they did it because the fans wanted it. Fans love controversy, controversy sells. Fans can say all they want that they didn't want any more coverage, but they still read the articles and listened to the analysis. It's just like Johnny Manziel, controversial topics sell.

Can you blame Favre? Of course. Can you blame the Packers? Yes. But who am I to judge when I hardly know any of the facts of what went on behind the scenes? What I judge Favre on is his play and what he did for the the Packers and Green Bay as a whole. His career is very respectable, as is he. I choose to love and respect him.
