:arghh::bawling::cry:

I buy some Corona or Landshark just so my girlfriend doesn't consider going after my beer stash. That or I get a dark or IPA, which she doesn't like.

I tried beer twice in my young life, can't stand the smell or taste. DH loves beer as does my son (and scotch and good whiskey.) I drink wine but the alcohol % has to be low cause I am old. Now in Disney I love to try all the mixed cocktails. Yummy. That is about the only time I ever drink hard liquor.

Seriously, I really think the Cleaning Lady is trying to injure me.
The bench has now been inched back into perfect position, but the damage has been done.

You may recognize "this little piggy" from a couple of weeks ago.

Stick a piece of masking tape squares under the legs now so when it moves it goes back in the right place.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
I have teenager wisdom or lack thereof to share!

DS18 thought he was oh-so clever taking his intake manifold on his '07 Mustang apart to clean and detail the engine stuff last week. Well, it sounds like he didn't get everything put back correctly. The car runs like crap right now. Dad is working out of town so he has nobody to help him trouble shoot it. And DH has chewed his butt for taking it apart when he was told not to. Dad doesn't have time to work on cars on the weekends.

So DH is mad. 18 yro kid is mad. Okay well the 18 yro just said "My hopes and dreams have been crushed." It's the end of the world, you know.

I have an 18 year old son and a 19 year old son.

At any given time, one or the other is mad.
Often, they are both mad.
Hubby and I are usually mad (at them, not each other).

Oh, for a fast forward or a rewind button. Whichever.

I'm the only beer drinker allowed to reside in our home. I've roomed with plenty of beer drinkers before. As soon as the beer crosses the threshold of the door, the unwritten law that it is now everyone who resides (and/or crashes) there's property, no matter how many times they haven't paid or chipped in for it, kicks in.
One of the criteria for me when choosing a wife was, specifically, that she would not be a beer drinker. That would at least give our kiddos a 50/50 shot at not bein' beer drinkers, either. So far anyway, this "gamble" seems to have paid off. DWifey still doesn't like beer, and neither do any of the kiddos.
Sorry, dude.

:D ;) :)

Well, now that we know your family doesn't like beer, I guess i can tell you that I can't stand it either! :p

I think now is the perfect time to tell you a story, and I hope you're sitting down for this one! :jawdrop: Years ago, my mother and I went on a brewery tour at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery, up in Merrimac, NH. The grounds were gorgeous, the Clydesdales were magnificent, and the tour, itself, was very interesting. At the end of the tour, they offered everyone a (very) large glass of the beer that they were brewing that day (I think it was a "light" beer). So, my mother sampled some. I refused mine. I walked over to a vending machine and had an orange soda instead! HA! :joyfull: :hilarious:

I can't walk past the kitchen without Daisy being two steps behind me. But I trained her as a puppy to sit in the doorway and not enter the kitchen when I'm in there...so now she sits in the doorway looking utterly pitiful.

I don't BBQ because I don't have a grill :( but when I cook anything, she's there. If I open the fridge, she's there and she wants some. The pantry door? Same. Cabinets? Yep, there's the dog. It's an added bonus when the cat also joins the begging pitiful doorway party.

Daisy usually gets a banana or a peach or an apple with her kibble. I had to buy a special bowl for her, it's a "slow down" bowl...because she eats so damn fast she chokes. I also have to add water to her kibble, to slow her down. She's part beagle, part jack Russell, and part Hoover vacuum.

Pets are funny, and can be single-minded at times. Whenever you go into the kitchen, open the frig, or a cabinet, I swear a dinner chime goes off in their heads! :)

That was interesting about the "slow down bowl" for Daisy. I never knew anything like that existed. My dog inhales his food—I don't think he even chews it at all!

Just wanted to mention that barbecues can be low in price. For many years, all I ever used were hibachis, and I never spent more than $12-15 on them. (Maybe now with the summer winding down, there might be some good sales in your area.) I don't like the gas or propane grills they sell. I prefer charcoal in a regular Weber (basic) grill (just bought it recently). I even get the pretreated charcoal, so that I don't have to use lighter fluid. Lighter fluid scares me; I'm such a wuss! :(

So, in places where it snows regularly as part of the normal winter, do they have snow shoveling services kinda like landscape services? I wouldn't even know what to do with that. We got snowed/iced in a hotel in Oklahoma for 2 days once a couple years ago. I just waited for the stuff to melt & hotel parking lot to clear before I went anywhere. Waiting it out prob'ly won't be an option in Canada. ;)

try a space monkey (A delicious blend of chocolate shake, Parrot Bay Coconut rum and banana liqueur) the scifi dine in has taken them off the menu :(

My guess is that Canada is no different than the States. Snow removal is big business. Around here in the Northeast, a lot of landscaping companies will change their focus in the winter, to snow removal. That way, they have business most months of the year by changing things up, depending upon the season. :)

Oh thank goodness! I've only seen snow a few times in my life. I've always lived in the south. I have no idea what to do with long term, abundant snow. I'm scared enough at the prospect of driving in ice & snow. Yikes!

Driving in it takes practice, and it's not fun.

I actually like shoveling snow. Whenever we have a snowstorm that comes in overnight, I love going out early and shoveling the front porch and steps. Usually, I'm the only one out that early shoveling (in the dark)on the street—except for the city plow drivers that go by, and wave to me! (heh, heh . . .)
